Not enough brain power to write a fun caption, just want you to come dance with me! by @rei.of.sun
Here comes the sappy post, as promised (with some personal lore as a preface). . Wayyyy back in kindergarten, my teacher once told my mom that she foresaw me growing up to be a lawyer, a politician, or a teacher- and shout out to Ms. Lee cause she was right. I've been so lucky in my dance journey that it's led me to be able to help people discover dance, fall back in love with it, understand themselves through it, and most importantly have fun with it. Dance is one of the beauties that allow us to play as adults, which is ever so important as the world continues to combust around us. Being able to share something that I love and is so inextricably a part of me is an incredible gift that I thankfully give and receive continuously. Sharing not only dance steps, but cultural and historical significance; understanding lineage and repeating these practices to pay respect to the dancers who came before us and the artists who share with us so we can move and share together. . It was a wonderful 4.5 years teaching, sharing, laughing, and sweating with all my drop in dancers. Part of the beauty of sharing dance is creating community, and we've done just that. Whether you came once a month, once a week, or just once, I hope you learned at least one useful thing from me, and I hope you continue to carry it in all your future classes. Here's to new ventures 💛💛 by @rei.of.sun

In honour of my 100th IG post/ a bonus belated International Dance Day post, here's a (very!) small collection of bloopers that have been recorded over the years. To this day there's something about knowing the camera is on that trips me up! And y'all, when I tell you the panic is real 😂 but you gotta be able to laugh at yourself, y'know? . Can't remember who filmed all these, but I hear @sara_saltz laughter in clips 1 & 5 for sure 😝 . The attempted choreo in clip 10 was taught by @_shaylakristine in the first Creative Lab session for @whereweland.co (I'll do better next time!!) . . . #dance #dancebloopers #dancelife #internationaldanceday #100thpost by @rei.of.sun
Happy happy international dance dayyyyy!!! 🕺 . For once I'm posting on time & I couldn't think of a more fitting video to use as tribute. Dance is joy, community, celebration; it is generously giving, gently confrontational, and always patient. Dance frees me, challenges me, exhausts me. It fills my cup, helps me understand myself, and ultimately supports my evolution as a human being. I've said it before, but I'd never thought I'd be able to have dance as a career, but I am incredibly lucky and thankful to the people that gave me a chance to not only show what I can do, but continue to help elevate me so I can keep helping others. . May you always find ways to let the music move you; I'm always cheering for you. Thank you, dance 💛 . P.S. HUGE congratulations to my friend @melodyrose_dances for opening @interludedancestudio Australia is so lucky to have you!! . P.P.S shout out to the man the myth the legend @yeahitsak for this banger of a song. I love everything you do 🙏 by @rei.of.sun
Had way too much fun with this piece to not post it right away! And coming back to full health after a lil side trip to the hospital really reminded me that physical health is indeed the most important, and dancing will always feed my soul. . Big thank you to everyone who came for this piece & continue to show up, it's an honour to be able to help you discover the fun of dance 💛 extra shout out to @ke.097 for hyping me up behind the camera! 🙏 . . . #kpop #dance #kpopdance #twice #righthandgirl by @rei.of.sun
