Reiki for animals and humans, interfaith/interspiritual community ministry by a gentle ginger named Rev. Marshall. Cohost of the @wonderqueerpodcast.

POSTS STORIES REELS

INTRO: Hi! 👋 I am called Marshall (she/they) and I live on the unceded Tsalaguwetiyi territory (Eastern Cherokee) that’s referred to as Asheville, North Carolina.
〰️
What do I do? I am an animal reiki and reiki practitioner, interfaith/interspiritual minister and animal chaplain. Yes, some of that might spark more questions! Most essentially, I support others in healing, whether it be animals and their humans, folks in recovery, folks grieving losses of loved ones who took their own lives, or those who are discovering more about their spirituality.
➰
I am grateful to be working with animals and people through reiki. I offer my services at a reduced cost to Black, Indigenous and non-Black poc, lgbtqia+ folks and folks with disabilities. I do this because we are all trying to support ourselves in this capitalistic society and the truth is that it’s not a level playing ground. If my fees are a barrier to anyone in those communities, you can use a coupon code without hesitation.
➿
I am also a survivor of suicide loss. My father passed himself away more than a decade ago. Since then, I’ve lost a few friends, too. Many of us have had our lives touched by suicide in some capacity. I facilitated a free local support group for 5 years. I am deepening my work with survivors through workshops, grief programs, and group structures.

I had the pleasure to guest AGAIN(!) on Dr. Jan Lundy’s podcast, Little Losses Everywhere (and some big ones too), talking about animal chaplaincy and pet loss. Had a great chat with Grief Support Specialist/Grief Educator/Author Jan Lundy of The Metta Center and Animal Chaplain/Cat Behavior & Adoption Counselor Kathleen Upon of the @litterarykitty Café.

Do it, do it, do it! Today and tomorrow are the last days for early voting. And then, Tuesday, is the real last day. I like voting. If it doesn’t matter, why are they always scheming to try to take it away?

We know touch can be complicated for many reasons. This blog speaks to how touch can change for some survivors of suicide loss, and how Reiki is often a good option for survivors because it is touch-optional. I hope you enjoy it. 🫶 reikifortoday.com/blog by @reikifortoday

Yessss! Come join Michelle Cassandra Johnson (@skillinaction) and me for a conversation about her incredibly impactful new book, coming out so soon! Visit firestorm.coop/events and read up about it. Thank you, Michelle & @firestormcoop! by @reikifortoday

It was such a delight to be on Dr. Jan Lundy’s podcast to share about the specific needs of survivors of suicide loss, the Befriend Your Grief program, and some of my own experience of losing my father. It was 15 years ago today, so recording this week was a potent time. What a gift to share a conversation with Jan, who I admire and appreciate her work in the world so much.
