It’s official, the Carolina Legend is here! The Austin Metroplex is now home to Bojangles. I was able to preview the menu ahead of opening day, and I left very impressed—perfectly seasoned chicken, tart lemonade, the Bo’ Berry Biscuit, and more.

Austin, let’s eat! 🤎 I’ve partnered with @visitaustintx to highlight 3 Black-owned restaurants in Austin that deserve a permanent spot on your foodie hit list. 
📍 Whip My Soul @whipmysoul Family-owned, soul-food-rooted, and deeply comforting. From the yams to the mac, the fried chicken to the peach cobbler—it’s giving Sunday dinner. And yes… the oxtail mac & cheese eggroll is as insane as it sounds.

📍 Twin Isle @twinisle Straight Trinidad & Tobago flavor in Central Texas. I tried Doubles for the first time (iconic street food moment), plus oxtail fries that had me questioning my loyalty to regular fries. Caribbean classics with a creative twist—no notes.

📍 Community Kitchen & Tap Room @communitykitchentaproom (formerly Community Vegan) Vegan comfort food that doesn’t feel like a compromise. Fried oyster mushrooms, greens, fries + house ranch, and a slice of cornbread that thought it was pound cake.

Same scene, same light, one difference: an ND filter. 
Want that smooth, cinematic motion blur? Shoot at a slower shutter speed (a good rule of thumb is double your frame rate, so 1/50 for 24fps). The catch is that a slower shutter lets in more light, and on a sunny day your shot gets blown out fast. 
That’s where an ND filter comes in. It cuts the light so you can keep your shutter where you want it without overexposing. 
Save this for your next outdoor shoot.
