Eight years ago today, I asked you to be my girlfriend. You told me you needed some time to think because you wanted to focus on graduating and didn’t want to rush into a relationship. I told you, “Okay, just let me know when you’re ready, because my mind is already made up. You’re the one for me.” One day later, you said, “Let’s do this and see where God takes us.” And eight years later, I’m so grateful we took that step.

We chased our dreams, lived in different cities and even different states, spent countless hours on FaceTime, traveled back and forth, laughed, prayed, grew together and somehow made the distance feel small. Four years later, we stood at the altar and became husband and wife.

Now, four years into this marriage, I get to look at you, our beautiful baby girl and the life we’ve built and know God gave me far more than I ever could have asked for.

Tre, you are my wife, my best friend, my teammate and truly the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Thank you for choosing me, believing in me, loving me and building this life with me. Happy 4th Anniversary, my love. I’d choose you in every lifetime. I love you always and forever.

No matter how bad life gets or how much negativity comes my way, every day I come home and see this tiny little angel.

She stumbles around exploring, picking up everything she can find, and living life to the fullest. Then she looks at me, her eyes light up, and she says, “Da Da.”

It erases everything—the pain, the frustration, and all the troubles of the world.

And that is enough for me to keep living in this crazy world. It’s the greatest feeling any man could have.

Being a father and a husband has been my greatest challenge and my greatest achievement all at the same time. I am so blessed and thankful…

THIS WEEKEND WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!

My daughter is one year old!! It’s crazy to see how fast time flies. Just a year ago, her mama and I were panicking about what to do with this 7-pound wild child!!

Watching you grow has been the greatest joy of my life. Thank you to everyone who shared kind words, gave gifts, helped us prepare, and celebrated our daughter with us.

You all truly made it the greatest day she’ll never remember lol

Working in the news, unfortunately, I cover a lot of families coming together for tragedies. I praise God that my daughter got to see so many people we love because of this celebration.

Last week was long and stressful. Years ago, I used to spend my days off alone—upset and frustrated about work, trying to control things that were beyond my control.

Now, I thank God that I can spend my days off by the pool with my beautiful, amazing family. No stress—just kicking back and letting God take the wheel.
