Today my dad turns 80!!! 😳😍 🥳
His first birthday without my mum, and the toughest year of his life!!
Eight months ago I worried about how he would cope. Today, I’m simply proud. Proud of his strength, his resilience, and the way he’s found a path forward despite the heartbreak.
You have always been my hero, Dad.
You think Fern and I are in London today… but we’re on our way to surprise you. ✈️

A dear friend of my parents, Carin Meiland, was walking by the sea in the old town of Estepona and suddenly stopped… she looked up at a mural and thought: that’s Aad. She took a photo and sent it to him. He wasn’t completely sure, but when he sent it to me, I felt it straight away… it had to be him. I managed to track down the artist (with a little help from ChatGPT) and asked what inspired the mural. He replied: it is your dad… and sent me the exact photo he used. One of the very few shoots my parents ever did together. It hit us both. The artist too. It feels like a little sign from my mum 🤍 taken in Estepona, Spain by @remcoanddad
