Today, I have officially Graduated with my Master’s degree. Let me share a few details about this momentous achievement. Being a Black Male from the Southside of Chicago (Auburn Gresham/Englewood), where life expectancy is shorter than most and many racially systemic barriers and impoverishment apply. It makes it nearly impossible to achieve these things. During my educational journey in my younger adolescent years, I wanted to reshape and reform my own life into something positive and impactful, so I sought the pursuit of education. Despite all of the crime, statistics, impoverishment, and other detrimental barriers around me, I am the first in my family to obtain a Bachelor’s degree with double Honors, I’ve then told myself that I will pursue and achieve higher greatness—BLACK GREATNESS. Now, I am the first to have achieved Master’s degree from the Univiersity of Illinois at Chicago on a full-ride scholarship and with many other scholarships awarded! I’ve maintained a Cumulative GPA of a 4.0!! and graduated Summa Cum Laude. This is an exemplary example of BLACK MALE EXCELLENCE. However, my journey does not stop here! I am committed to giving back to my south side community to implement CHANGE and I will also be pursuing for a Doctorate’s Degree soon. Graduated top of my University last Sunday for my Bachelor’s degree. But, allow me to explain how I am not the typical Black male student. I graduated college coming from the south side of Chicago as a first generation student , no parents or family literally on my own. Attended a PWI, graduated with tons of scholarships and honor societies memberships. I also obtain the highest level of Honors that my University had to offer. I am also the student ambassador of my major’s department and I have a very high GPA on my graduating class with job opportunities lined up. I can admit I am a very good demonstration of Black male excellence. Highest academic achievements earned. One journey down , Master’s degree loading, will be attending Aurora University which has the top program for my field in the state.🤝📚 I am BLACK MALE success. taken in Northern Illinois University by @remeyx
