Garchaster’s Cornblade is the brand new movie and wildly creative vision from Kasper Melted (Busted Babies), featuring an excellent lo-fi score and a slew of underground video artists and personalities in an aesthetic comparable to Ryan Trecartin’s stylings. Screening @thefuzzyneedle on Sunday, August 23, 7:30pm. With @lunchmeatvhs in person selling VHS goods as well! Synopsis: “A gricky star planet girl follows a casting call into the Earth oven so she can fulfill her dream of getting inside of a VHS tape... to burn and inhale herself. Donald Farmer weaves golden webs with the cryogenic cowboys while the star planet gets heavier with razzling trash carnivals. The Carpet Muckers twirling gorches but the Garbites are way too hungry for karaoke flavored peanut butter screams.“ by @remlezar

Due to the suppression of good, clean Christian media on publicly available streaming services, Boys’ Bible Study is happy to announce that we are moving on to what makes more sense then ever: physical media! Going forward, all $20 tier patrons will receive a DVD once a month(shipping included if within the US—message us if not and we’ll try to figure something out). This will typically be a uniquely titled movie with a new cover and the actual movie will typically be something either modified by us or not readily available to society. Anyone who is signed up for this tier by the first of each month will receive the DVD for that month. To kick off, though, you will have until Easter Sunday(April 5) to sign up and receive April’s DVD. And keep your eyes on our Patreon at any tier to find out in advance what we’re serving each month! by @remlezar

EVERYBODY’S THIRSTY This no budget remake(reboot?) of the heavy-handed Requiem For A Dream from @want_mary begins as parody, but manages to transcend its premise through shear DIY enthusiasm and ends up being an inspired comedy that somehow gives you a hug while flipping off Hollywood. And honestly it has more to say about drugs and addiction then it’s forefather without even really trying. So come out to this VERY rare screening of an even rarer movie! While you have the chance! . #filmington #hollyweird #requiem #diy #undergroundcinema #wilmingtonnc #movie by @remlezar

𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝐂𝐇𝐈 𝐀𝐍𝐍 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐙𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐔𝐑𝐘 (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓) by @3angelspower 🎭 For the first time in the history of our podcast, we are reviewing a film in which we co-starred. This is CHI ANN BLAZE OF FURY, the brand new film by 3Angels Power, a Canadian film production company based in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. In 2019, BBS co-host Julian struck up a friendship and artistic relationship with the Karam sisters (Gladys, Mona Lisa, and Jeanne d’arc) whose films he found by accident after misspelling a search term on YouTube. He was immediately captivated by the creative writing and directing of the sisters’ 2013 feature film FRANCESKA FINGER NAILZ, a 3 hour long epic about a misunderstood spirit wreaking havoc on a rural Canadian town. Julian wrote to the 3Angels, offering to film any script they sent to us with a troupe of actors. Weeks later, we had a script in hand for several scenes of a film that would become CHI ANN BLAZE OF FURY. We got about 20 of our friends together, drove to Marina del Rey and recorded a long scene on a beach in which a group of people discuss love and philosophy while fielding phone calls warning them to the existence of yet another evil spirit named Chi Ann. A long time passes and we are unsure about the status of the production; six years later, 3Angels surprise posts the film and we get to watch in its entirety. As fans and promoters of DIY filmmaking, it was so exciting to yield our will to filmmakers we admire and do whatever they asked us to do to realize their vision. 3Angels have a unique command of language and storytelling. No films look and sound like theirs. We’re proud to be involved, and we hope our review inspires lovers of film to watch CHI ANN BLAZE OF FURY, subscribe to 3Angels’ channel, and stay tuned to their electrifying updates. 🎭 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 $5 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘰𝘯.𝘤𝘰𝘮/𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘴𝘣𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺. @gunfighterparadise is the most under-seen, under-talked about movie of 2024 imo. There were a few really excellent “accurate reflection of the times” movies that I saw this past year, but Jethro Waters’ dark, yet comedic modern American folk tale has been rattling around my head since I caught it at @reggies42ndstreet this past summer. The search for spiritual meaning in a dying, misinformed rural landscape can be very isolating and lonely, and that is beautifully portrayed here in a way that kinda feels like if the ‘90s Coen Brothers made a movie while obsessively going through the All The Haunts Be Ours box sets. This should be on Criterion. I believe @jethrowaters is currently only doing in person screenings, so you should try to get this screened in yer city/town! by @remlezar
