Our third sailing season has officially begun! It wasn’t the smoothest start—I (Lau) had some severe food poisoning that stuck around longer than expected…

But now that the boat is prepped and ready, we’re all set for the next few months of sailing and exploring ⛵️🐢🤿🐚

This year, we’re heading up to the northern Ionian, with plans to visit Corfu.

We’re especially excited because three years ago, we were there for our sailing course with RYA, and now we’re returning with our very own sailboat 🤩

It’s incredible to look back and see how far we’ve come - proof that when you set your mind to something, it can really happen!

We’ve made it to a charming little town on the Greek mainland called Palairos.

For the past 3 sailing seasons, we’ve found ourselves returning here - not for the stunning mountain views (though they’re beautiful😌), but for one particular reason: a great restaurant that serves some delicious curries (check out the next slide!).

And this season we had the chance to share this experience with Lau’s parents, hence the amount of food we ordered 😅

We set off from Lakka for a relaxed little sailing trip around Antipaxos and Paxos—both stunning, small Greek islands 🇬🇷

Anchoring can be a bit of a challenge since many spots require lines to shore, which isn’t really our thing, plus it’s pretty popular, so finding a spot can be hit or miss…

Luckily, we found a nice place to anchor and wrap up the day ⛵️💛✨

One week in summary

After five days of leisurely making our way from Lefkada, hugging the mainland coast and checking out the west coast of Corfu, we’ve made it to Corfu Old Town! 🇬🇷

We were here 3 years back for our RYA sailing course and totally fell in love with the vibe- the old town’s just got that charm, plus loads of amazing food spots.

You’ve got to stop by @mikrocafe_corfu for the best coffee in town ☕️ Eventhough they don’t serve food, you’re welcome to bring along a Spanakopita from Panetteria, a very good bakery 🤤

This week treated us to some stunning skies and tasty homemade fish cakes. We also picked up Izaac's cousin Hannah, who’s joining us for a few days of sailing ⛵️💛

Have you heard of Cape Drastis?

Cape Drastis is one of the most beautiful and untouched spots in Corfu, located at the northwestern tip of the island with some stunning cliffs ✨

You can easily drive up there for great views, but if you’re up for exploring the hidden beaches, renting a boat or hopping on a sailboat is the way to go 🇬🇷

A rolly anchorage

On our way from the southwest coast to northern Corfu, we found this beautiful, secluded anchorage—clear water, amazing rocks, and no one else around
🪸🪼🐚

It was a bit rolly, but we figured it wouldn’t be too bad and decided to stay the night. Turns out, it was a lot rollier than expected, and not exactly the best night’s sleep 😅

For some reason, Lau chose this moment to make soup, despite all the rocking… Amazingly, it survived—and tasted great too!

We had a good laugh about it, watched a beautiful sunset, but took off first thing in the morning ⛵️
