New Restore location unlocked!

We are pleased to announce our new Restore project in Nepal! In collaboration with Green Intelligence and our bona fide partner reNature, we will be helping rural communities in the Bagmati province establish model food forest farms to build ecological and economic resilience. We are excited to work with new partners to restore more land across the global south.

This will be the third project exclusively funded by the Hyatt Hotels in Hong Kong, bringing us closer to a regenerative food system with clean and healthy food.

We’ve been bursting at the seams to announce our second project outside Hong Kong. Collaborating once again with the brilliant reNature, we are partnering with the Wawee Valley Foundation (WVF) to climate-proof farmers in Wawee Valley, Northern Thailand.

Originally founded in 2013, Hilltribe Organics is a social enterprise already producing organic free-range eggs and its own organic chicken feed. Now with its sister organization, the WVF has a mission to improve the livelihoods of over 5,000 local tribal families while preserving and restoring the region’s natural and social ecosystems.

Projects like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our restaurant partners to close the table-to-farm loop. This ambitious project is sponsored entirely by the 1% pledges collected by the Hyatt hotels in Hong Kong (Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, and Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui). It is a shining example of how the hospitality industry can help create the tipping point to restore our food system.

Our March Regen Hero, Homero Blas, is guiding the development of the main Agroforestry Educational Center in Yucatán, Mexico. The center will serve as a demonstration and educational space for regenerative citrus agroforestry for 4,000 farmers, students, and researchers and to build capacity for farmers to transition to climate-smart agroforestry production. Juicy details: They have already planted over 1500 trees.

Nuestro 'Héroe Regenerativo' de Marzo, Homero Blas, está guiando el desarrollo del principal Centro Educativo Agroforestal de Yucatán, México. With the support of the Leopold Bachmann Foundation and IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, reNature developed a three-year program to empower regenerative entrepreneurship amongst the indigenous Paiter-Suruí in Rondônia, Brazil. We thank Uraan Anderson Suruí for leading the newly formed CoopSur. The COOP aims to create small-scale, nature-inclusive agricultural initiatives with nuts, coffee, and more. Hudson Anauá is living proof that people make a difference. His endless energy has transformed his land and the land around it into a lush decor of food production. He’s also the leading character in the first Humans of Nature mini-documentary and a personal inspiration to Marco de Boer, our CEO, who visited Viveiro Anauá in January 2023. At his nursery, Hudson Anauá grows 1.5 million native tree seedlings and 0.7 million diverse seedlings each year. He also maintains 7 ha of agroforestry and 10 ha of regenerative livestock. A área experimental de Agrofloresta da Flowins aqui na Fazenda da Serra recebe manutenção recorrente, precisamos sempre estar atentos ao manejo para que o sistema vá se formando da melhor maneira. Nesses últimos dias nosso feijão guandu foi cortado gerando bastante material de cobertura para nosso sistema.

The Flowins Agroforestry experimental area here at Fazenda da Serra receives recurring maintenance, we always need to be attentive to the management so that the system will be formed in the best way. In the last few days, our pigeonpea has been cut, generating a lot of cover material for our system. by @renature

reNature offers its deepest condolences on the passing of chief Joaquim G̃asat'dahp Suruí, a great leader of the Paiter-Suruí people and one of the last survivors of the official contact, in 1969. Joaquim was a great warrior and helped to write one of the most beautiful stories of struggle, resistance and, above all, an excellent guardian of the culture of his people.
The reNature team is in solidarity with the family members of the great leader, in particular his eldest son and our partner, @anderson.surui. Yeteh iter G̃asat'dahp!

Joaquim foi um grande guerreiro e ajudou a escrever uma das mais lindas histórias de luta, resistência e, acima de tudo, um exímio guardião da cultura do seu povo.
