Happy #tdov I wrote this last summer and then finished it today. I placed my words over some images of older versions of myself- the ones that are still nonbinary. I love my Trans family, I love being Queer. I love being able to pull the seeds out of a strand of grass on a hot day, to build an authentic self, and to be in some sort of narrative that feels most me. Our community will riot until the sun swallows us whole for a world where our safety and joy is a given. There is grief for all the reasons, and we get to demand more than visibility. Liberation? April is #sexualassaultawarenessmonth (SAAM) I wrote a mini essay about my survival from sexual abuse, of conch shells, feminine rage, healing, and transforming. This felt important to make. And I hope it is impactful. If you or someone you know is struggling with the impacts of gender based violence or SA: I believe you, I am here, you did not deserve this, it’s not your fault, and I’m sorry this happened.
