“I am looking for images exploring the theme of headwear. Look beyond the standard baseball cap or beanie.

Our heads are the crown of our identity. What we wear on it tells a story about who we are, the culture we belong to, the jobs we do, our environment. Show me how we adorn, protect, camouflage and express themselves from the neck up.
Show me cultural, religious, occupational, subculture and stylish headwear or something accidental like a newspaper covering you head in the rain.

Anything from high fashion, to raw and gritty moments.”

Renata Filippi @rendogie is a photographer from Melbourne, Australia, and if you’ve spent any time on Unexposed, you’ve likely already come across her work - she’s one of our regular posters. Today we’re featuring a selection of her tattoo photos (of which she has many), for a bit of inspiration.

Renata is drawn to distinctive characters - people with bold, sometimes extreme personal styles who stand out on Melbourne’s streets. Her images have a gritty, raw quality, and she’s known for experimenting with flash in ways that give her street photography an edge of its own.
