POSTS STORIES REELS

A moment with @renee.kester
Directed by @rubberlegz by @renee.kester

Monday Oct 12th at 7 pm, we are very pleased to welcome for the first time in the studio Swell @renee.kester

Renee « Nayya » Kester is an LA-based choreographer and dancer whose movement blends breaking, ballet and contemporary dance. Member of Kynetiqs, the global movement collective founded by Rauf « RubberLegz » Yasit, she co-created the viral dance film Slip (20M+ views), which launched an international career performing, choreographing and teaching worldwide. Her work is driven by storytelling, musicality and movement as a deeply human form of expression.

This Swell will be an exploration of moving from the inside out—allowing internal sensation, emotion, and the frequencies of the music to move the body before the mind has a chance to decide what comes next.

Renee’s guidance will be followed by a DJ set by French DJ @mmmelaninnn. Myriam Konté (aka MELANIN) grew up in Paris, did her master’s in Seoul, and never quite left. That’s where she started DJing, throwing LGBTQIA+ parties with the Shade Seoul crew and programming live electronic music sets for Seoul Community Radio. Back in Paris since 2021, she worked as assistant to Ibrahim Tarouhit — casting director and agent for Kiddy Smile, Yseult and Bonnie Banane. Curator, sound engineer, DJ: what drives her is bringing together worlds that would never otherwise have crossed paths.

A little taste of what me and @odd_relics_ are preparing 🕊️ by @renee.kester

Update: I learned how to jump into cold water instead of walk in, which I think is a pretty big metaphor for life.

Excited to announce SYNC will be premiering in Barcelona June 13 at @galeria__alegria

Sync unfolds within a moment of ceremony: an attempt at unification between distinct embodied forces and two bodies on stage. Two presences embody polarities that coexist and clash: the emotional and the rational, the chaotic and the ordered.
Through encounter, repetition, confrontation, and listening, the bodies traverse states of proximity and distance, alignment and misalignment, where synchronicity is not a fixed state but something unstable and constantly negotiated.
The piece thus proposes a journey toward mutual recognition, where neither force imposes itself, but rather both are needed to sustain a single, dynamic unity.

Choreographed and performed by me and @martmart.x
Directed by @jonmcut

We are collaborating with @galeria__alegria @betacontemporary and @puesprojects Alongside 5 other amazing artists throughout the week, all touching on the same subject- La Piel.

into.mission is a movement method that uses the body as a tool for inner work and clear communication. Rooted in freestyle-based movement practices, the method approaches mindful movement as a mirror to both inner and outer experiences, unlocking personal intention, emotional clarity and artistic expression. into.mission provides a structured framework to understand one’s current state of being, define intentional direction for future development and communicate this transformation through the language of movement.

Renee Kester - Class Description - Contemporary:
With a base in both breaking and classical technique, Renee’s class infuses styles in contemporary form. She warms up with a series of exercises and floor work and moves into guided improv, finishing in light phrase work. Renee works with imagery to expand dancer’s creativity and find new textures in the body.
