After last week’s unexpected health crisis, this birthday feels like a miracle. I can’t believe we’re going from hospitalized urgent care to celebrating our 14th annual Cinco de Annie on Sunday. Grateful for each sunrise and sunset with my girl. by @reneeavril

Happy Easter, beloveds. May we choose, celebrate and practice resurrection in new ways this year.

“The Christian faith is not about believing in a pattern of power whereby death is avoided, but a pattern of love whereby death is transformed.

It is not about denying death, but about facing it honestly, courageously, and with hope.

It is about embracing the reality of our mortality and finding within it the possibility of new life.

Through Jesus, death is not the end but a doorway to something greater, a gateway to resurrection and eternal life.

It is the ultimate act of love, the ultimate surrender, and the ultimate transformation.

And it is through this transformation that we discover the true meaning of faith, the true power of love, and the true depth of our humanity.” #richardrohr

I met this new friend today and was reminded of how much I can learn from pelicans.

They remain patient and wait - both resting and soaring - for the right moment to appear.

They serve as a reminder to release any fear, anxiety or insecurity that can urge us to either dive too quickly or wait too long.

They encourage us to equally embrace the gift of resting, soaring, and diving all-in.

Gracias, mi amigo pelícano.

This morning’s sunrise defied the predicted schedule and took its sweet time to fully shine. Embracing creation’s rhythms & reminder: God’s timing is rarely as expected and always beautifully perfect. Abiding trumps striving every time. ✨
