The finish line is in sight… WATCH NOW and tell me what you think so far! CB x

🏠 THE FARMHOUSE GUEST HOUSE FIREPLACE WALL 🔥

Still under construction, but I couldn’t wait to show you the fireplace wall!

And before you ask 😂 the panelling is SpecRite Timber Acoustic Panel in Walnut, Item No. 0455960 from @bunnings

Proof a feature wall doesn’t need to cost a fortune!

Still a few finishing touches to go, but I reckon she’s looking pretty schmick.

🔥 This burn pile almost gave us a VERY different episode…

What started as a routine burn-off at The Farmhouse suddenly got a little more intense than expected.

For a moment there, we thought we might have a problem on our hands… 😬

Just another reminder that renovating on a farm comes with a few challenges you definitely don’t get in the city.

Thankfully, we got it under control, but it certainly made for an interesting day at The Farmhouse. 🔥

🚨 EPISODE 7 OF THE FARMHOUSE IS LIVE!

🪦 We discover what appears to be a tombstone in the backyard. Definitely wasn’t on the renovation checklist.

The burn pile gets a little more enthusiastic than planned…🔥

Meanwhile, the main house is finally starting to take shape. The wall frames are flying up and I can actually walk through the rooms instead of pointing at concrete saying, “the bedroom will be there"

It’s so exciting seeing the vision for the guest house start to come together, with @jameshardieau helping us transform the exterior along the way.

And then, just to top off the week… TINNIE DISAPPEARS. 🤖

Episode 7 is live now.

Even Cherie Barber has a property that got away. And this one is pretty extraordinary… 👀

In Part 2 of The Edit, Cherie joins host @ellelovelock to take us inside The Farmhouse and reveal how she balances designing a home for herself with keeping resale value in mind. Plus, why she avoids trends, where she finds colour inspiration and the surprising reason she starts her days at 3:30am.

But the real story? Cherie reveals how she came tantalisingly close to owning Elvis Presley’s iconic Palm Springs honeymoon home… and exactly why the deal fell through.

Sometimes the best part of renovating out here… is simply stopping to listen. 🌿

No traffic. No sirens. No city noise. Just birds, the breeze through the trees and the sounds of the farm.

It’s amazing how peaceful the world feels when nature is the soundtrack. 🤍

Do you get more than one quote when hiring a tradie?

After more than 30 years in the renovation game and 250+ projects under her belt, Cherie Barber of @renoforprofit knows that choosing the right tradie can make or break a renovation and potentially save you thousands, which is why Cherie says you should always get three quotes 💸

In Part 1 of The Edit, Cherie joins Home Beautiful Editor-in-Chief Elle Lovelock to reveal:
* how to work out whether a quote stacks up
* why the cheapest tradie isn’t necessarily the one you want, and
* the rules to follow when managing trades on site
She also gets candid about handling disagreements, the relentless work ethic behind her career and her latest project, The Farmhouse. Plus, what it's like to have a 🤖 humanoid robot joining Cherie and her tradies on site.

The Guest House just reached one of my FAVOURITE stages...

We’re installing @jameshardieau Stria™ Cladding, and I’m loving that beautiful render-like texture combined with those distinctive clean lines.

It’s already giving the Guest House such a sophisticated, modern look.

Now comes the hard part… choosing the paint colour! 🎨

What colour would you choose? 👇 by @renoforprofit
