We’re in! Boxes everywhere, dust everywhere and still some bits for the builders to finish off but it’s already home and I love it by @renonofour

The monkeys are home. In the spring on a trip to Arundel, I found some antique monkey prints in a higgledy piggledy map/art shop and immediately snaffled three up and took them to be framed. Couldnt stop thinking about them and how they deserved to be a hero feature, so a couple of weeks later I drove all the way back to Arundel and got another three. Picked them up today and as usual @winchesterframing have done an amazing job, excited to put them on a wall soon! by @renonofour

An absolutely huge day in terms of making the move to this house possible - the bloody broadband is finally in and working. What an uphill struggle that has been, for a while it looked like we might have to move in and commute back to our old house to work but it’s sorted. Absolute disco. Loads of other stuff happening too. Now we just need to get one child to University, pack up 21 years of stuff and move!! So nothing much 😂 by @renonofour

The penultimate wallpaper (6 of 7) going up in the laundry. It would have been very easy just to paint a functional room like the laundry a neutral and consider it done, but this @sandbergwallpaper print is so lovely that I almost can’t wait to be hanging up a wash in there. Lots of progress this week! by @renonofour

Panelling going up in the gym. It will be a very great luxury not to have to listen to anyone panting on the Peleton and I’m planning to make everyone repair to the gym to watch (and yell at) the football too. by @renonofour

The sexy beast leopard-print-ish tiles are going up in the kitchen. Loving how they throw off what is a pretty safe design and colour scheme with something just a little bit odd. by @renonofour

Nearly had several Falling Down moments today over the build and had to leave the room altogether during one conversation so I didn’t lose the plot. We are so close now, but these feel like hard yards with daily problems to solve and frustrations to overcome, including the crew not seeming to understand I have a day job which isn’t this, the stove man turning up an hour early for an appointment with no explanation, there being no plan for the kitchen windowsills and some panelling being 20mm too short. However, hanging out with @ellavictoriadesigns while she installed these beautiful curtains and blind has really reignited my enthusiasm. by @renonofour

Occasionally I have a dramatic meltdown and can’t imagine ever getting to live in this house and so I look back over this Insta and see how far it’s come. For example, the pocket doors are in where there was once no wall. After years of open plan, it feels counter intuitive to close off the sitting room like this, but anyone who lives with teenagers can tell you that no matter how marvellous they might be, you sometimes need there to be a door (or several) between them and you. by @renonofour
