I’ve always lived between worlds—artist and fighter,

I think that’s the wrong question, I personally don’t think successful artists exist, only the ones who never stopped creating. Failure is a game rigged for the winners, success is just a byproduct of showing up, failing better and refusing to stop.

Happy Father’s Day, Pepe

Before I knew who I would become, you were already there.

The older I get, the more I realize how much I didn’t understand when I was younger.

Some lessons came through words.
Others came through showing up.

As a kid, you only see a father.

When you get older, you really begin to see the man, especially when you become one yourself.

The life lived before I arrived.
The responsibilities carried.
The sacrifices made that went unnoticed as a child.

We still argue sometimes.
We still laugh at stupid things.
We still find reasons to grab food, travel, train or just spend time together.

The older I get, the more I appreciate not only the lessons but the man who taught them to me.

Grateful to have had you by my side through every version of myself.

Hoy, 11 de junio, se cumple un año desde el nacimiento de Shadowplay.

Lo que comenzó como una idea sencilla entre Heyoka y yo se convirtió en uno de los proyectos creativos más significativos que hemos realizado. Shadowplay nació de todo aquello que amamos: la música, la luz, las imágenes, el movimiento, el arte, la danza y la convicción de que la creatividad tiene el poder de conectar personas. Fue una extensión de todo lo que representa La Rava Studios.

Al mirar atrás, siento una profunda gratitud por cada persona que creyó en esta visión y ayudó a hacerla realidad.

Gracias a @asuical , @lalatrails , @eureka_villalobos y a todos los DJs, artistas, colaboradores y amigos que aportaron su energía, confianza y talento para construir algo verdaderamente especial.

Hoy, Shadowplay descansa mientras descubre cuál será su próxima forma. No sabemos cuándo volverá a manifestarse, pero los proyectos que nacen desde la pasión rara vez desaparecen. Evolucionan, se transforman y esperan pacientemente el momento adecuado para volver a la luz.

Gracias por haber sido parte de esta historia.

What makes Silent Disco special 🎧
Sharing the same moments with variety of music at your desired levels.

The crowd is lost in techno.
A group of friends dancing to reggaetón.
Others switching between channels of nostalgia and chaos all while painting a picture with friends.

Huge respect to @vanityglarevg and @vg.silentdisco.sv for doing something different.
Immense gratitude to @teatrodelucas.sv for providing the space and helping give artists, DJs, performers, photographers, dancers and creatives room to experiment, connect and create.

En el Kilómetro 0, donde arrancan todas las direcciones, @liza_raorz se mueve como una brújula viviente.

Norte, sur, este y oeste, todo expandiéndose desde un mismo punto de origen.

Su danza lleva la misma energía del jazz: intuitiva, cambiante y libre, pero siempre conectada a su centro.

Tras bambalinas de una producción de danza en el Centro Histórico de San Salvador.

Guatemala gave us a little bit of everything: café runs, chess matches, city walks, waking giants, a cat with a suspicious mustache and enough scenes to remind us this was only a first taste.
Grateful for the trip, the laughs, the photos and the time with my father & bro. Definitely coming back soon 🇬🇹 taken in Guatemala by @renzodoreno

Zona 10, Guatemala. Nos tocó uno de esos gimnasios de Airbnb que tienen lo básico, pero que también te hacen preguntarte si quien los diseñó alguna vez entrenó de verdad.

Aun así, en vez de verlo como excusa, lo tomamos como reto y armamos una sesión sólida con lo que había.

Ejercicios: kettlebell work,,TRX, treadmill dips improvisados en la caminadora,
trabajo de core y varias series llevadas cerca del fallo para que el espacio rindiera más de lo que prometía.

Como dijo Renzo: “I feel like people who design condominium gyms have maybe only stared at a gym from the outside. But it wasn’t a bad gym if you had imagination. Our exercises were only limited by what we could access and how creative we were willing to get. If you want satisfaction working out in a place like that, you really have to work for it.”

Al final, no era el gym ideal, pero sí el suficiente para resolver, adaptarnos y demostrar que una buena sesión no siempre depende del lugar, sino de la intención con la que entrás. taken in Zona 10 by @renzodoreno

I don’t know shit. I just do shit.

I never really enjoyed learning from a distance. I engage by throwing myself into the room, flailing around, getting humbled and figuring it out in real time.

Immersion teaches me faster than theory ever has.
That’s been true with language, art, fighting and almost everything else I’ve cared about.

Every punch, correction, mistake and word carries emotion. That’s how it starts to stick.

My grandfather boxed in this country too, so stepping into the ring here feels like learning Spanish and returning to something older than me all at once.
