I was honored last week to speak at the 2026 Women's Health Symposium, presented by @massbio_ and the @ma_womenscaucus , focused on pancreatic cancer innovation among women. The event was an excellent opportunity to cover what policymakers, researchers, industry, clinicians, and advocates can do together to accelerate progress to treat this incredibly complex disease, with the goal to turn visibility into greater urgency and ultimately into action. by @repalicepeisch

Today, I attended the 9/11 remembrance ceremonies in Weston and Wellesley. On the Weston Town Green, volunteers placed 3000 flags symbolizing the lives, of civilians and first responders lost on this day 25 years ago. In Wellesley, the Fire Department’s ceremony, recognized the invaluable service of the countless first responders who paid the ultimate price in their dedication to saving others. As we reflect on their heroism and honor the bravery and resilience displayed in the wake of that tragedy, we affirm our commitment to freedom, compassion, and solidarity. by @repalicepeisch

Yesterday, the Massachusetts Legislature passed sweeping legislation to protect residents from overreach by federal immigration authorities and to ensure that local and state law enforcement are not involved in federal immigration enforcement. If signed into law by the Governor, the legislation would create among the strongest protections in the nation for residents who have immigrated to their communities.

The final bill, An Act promoting rule of law, oversight, trust and equal constitutional treatment—known as the PROTECT Act—strengthens due process protections; limits civil immigration enforcement in courthouses, public school grounds, hospitals, and other sensitive locations; expands protections for victims of crime; and increases transparency, accountability, and clarity for correctional facilities and law enforcement relative to civil immigration enforcement. The PROTECT Act was originally filed by the Black and Latino Legislative Caucus, with the goal of offering feasible policy options to address growing concerns about federal overreach in Massachusetts. by @repalicepeisch

Yesterday, the Massachusetts House of Representatives passed legislation to strengthen dementia care, improve support for families and caregivers, expand workforce training, and enhance public health efforts to address Alzheimer's disease and other dementias across the Commonwealth. The bill takes a comprehensive approach to improving care for individuals living with dementia while equipping health care providers, first responders, hospitals, and state agencies with the tools and resources needed to better serve patients. I have been a longtime supporter of this legislation and was proud to vote in support of this bill. by @repalicepeisch

On Monday, I spoke to and answered questions from the 2026 House and Senate Summer Interns as part of the Joint Legislative Intern Speaker Series. As always, it is encouraging to see the interest and curiosity their generation bring to their volunteered time as Statehouse interns. Before the seminar, some of my office’s summer interns joined me for pizza and some Quebrada cookies to discuss their thoughts on the Legislature, what they’ve learned this summer, and their plans for the future. Stay tuned for individual features on my office’s interns later this summer. taken in Massachusetts State House by @repalicepeisch

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the 7uice Foundation Bridge Program’s kick off event on Tuesday. I was very impressed to hear about all the contributions Jaylen Brown and the 7uice Foundation have made to the Commonwealth. While he may be leaving Boston, the impact he has had on our communities will remain. by @repalicepeisch

My staff will be hosting remote office hours on July 24, 2026 from 10AM-3PM. Office hours are for constituents of mine to discuss matters pending before the Legislature, issues they may be having with an Executive Agency (RMV, DUA, etc..), or any other district matters with a member of my staff.

Constituents may sign up for office hours via the Sign-Up Genius link in my bio and will be sent a link to attend. Please include your name, address, and a brief overview of what you would like to discuss in your sign-up. With any questions, please contact my Legislative Aide, Wesley Stanton.

As always, any constituent who wishes to meet with me, may make an appointment for a more convenient time by calling 617-722-2783 or emailing Alice.Peisch@mahouse.gov. by @repalicepeisch

Last Friday, I was proud to attend the bill signing for the Early Literacy bill that passed the Legislature on June 19th. The final legislation, modeled after legislation I filed and supported with Senator Sal DiDomenico, establishes clear statewide standards for evidence-based reading instruction—requiring the teaching of phonics, ensures access to high-quality K-3 curricula, enhances educator training and support, and creates new reporting and accountability systems. I would also like to thank Speaker Mariano and Chairs Michlewitz and Gordon for prioritizing this legislation in the House.

We cannot allow Massachusetts to fall behind. Right now, fewer than half of Massachusetts third graders are reading proficiently. Children who cannot read proficiently by the end of third grade are far more likely to struggle academically and face fewer opportunities later in life. By passing this legislation, we are investing in our teachers, strengthening accountability, and giving every child the opportunity to thrive. taken in Massachusetts State House by @repalicepeisch

Earlier this month, the Legislature finalized a major transportation and infrastructure package to support municipal roads, transit, and housing. The $2.7 billion in bond funding to help municipalities make local road and bridge repairs, invest in public transit infrastructure, and support transit-oriented housing development statewide. The FY27 Chapter 90 allocation for the municipalities in the 14th Norfolk District can be found in the attached graphic. by @repalicepeisch
