ICE is not making us safer and this surge is increasing fear in the community. I encourage everyone to make a safety plan and take care of each other. I will not stop advocating for safe communities, due process, and humane immigration reform. by @repbonamici

AI is already shaping how students learn and how people earn a living, but federal rules and regulations to protect students, support workers, and enforce ethical standards do not exist. The companies building these tools don’t get to regulate themselves; we need clear rules and accountability for how AI is used in classrooms and workplaces. My human-centered legislation will empower and protect students, families, educators and others in the workforce by investing in evidence-based research, reskilling, transparency, safety, and long-term strategies. Congress must act now so AI does not continue to threaten the development of critical thinking skills and the wellbeing of humanity. by @repbonamici

But right now students and schools are facing new and complicated challenges, including digital distraction and generative AI. We need an evidenced-based plan that meets the moment. A public execution by firing squad is bad enough, but live streaming it would demean us as a nation. There is no doubt that the man in question committed a heinous crime, but this kind of spectacle goes against our values. I join many members of the military and the faith community in condemning this plan and I am callling on Secretary Hegseth reverse it. by @repbonamici

It was an honor to celebrate two former colleagues whose work on transportation shaped our state and nation. Representatives Blumenauer and DeFazio spent decades fighting for policies and resources to support multimodal transportation—including bike infrastructure—and Oregon is a better place because of them. We’ve seen an alarming increase in detentions and ICE activity across Oregon. I conducted a congressional oversight visit at the ICE Processing Facility in Portland with my colleagues @repdexteror and @senjeffmerkley.

This ICE surge is not making our communities safer. Their tactics are designed to intimidate and cause fear, and that’s exactly what’s happening.

Despite this, Oregonians are working together to care for friends and neighbors targeted by ICE. I stand with you and I will not stop demanding answers and working to get my constituents back home with their families. by @repbonamici

Jane Doe and Kendall Francis are not alone. 1 in 4 women experience sexual violence while in college.

And Trump’s Dept of Ed. is doing nothing to address it. In fact, they have gutted the very Office tasked with enforcing Title IX and formally reinstated regulations that weaken protections for survivors. We are demanding an investigation. Women deserve better.
