What a great way to start my day celebrating National and International Coffee Day at La Colombe in Fishtown with Reps Burgos and Hohenstein. La Colombe/Chobani recently launched a Legacy Fund to help the community-driven projects. Lutheran Settlement House was a recipient and the fund will be available this year. by @repburgos

Last week, I had the honor of participating in a Head Start roundtable discussion at Acelero Learning.

With 16 centers across Philadelphia, and offering Early Head Start services at select locations to children as young as six weeks old and up to three years old, Acelero is providing our youth with a well-rounded experience. by @repburgos

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we welcomed two distinguished individuals, along with their families, to Harrisburg this week.

Sheriff Genesis Arias is the first female sheriff of Luzerne County and the first Hispanic woman to hold the position in the Commonwealth's history. Her historic appointment carries a significance that extends far beyond the Sheriff's Office. Young Latinas y Latinos across our Commonwealth can now look at her story and see themselves represented in a position of leadership and public trust.

Roberto Clemente Jr., together with his wife and child, powerfully urges us to honor the enduring legacy of his father, Roberto Clemente. He reminds us to pay tribute not only to a baseball icon but to the generations of Latino leaders who have profoundly shaped our Commonwealth. Their contributions echo through time, inspiring us to embrace their spirit of perseverance and commitment to making a meaningful difference in our communities.

It’s well past time that we #EndHumanTrafficking across PA. I’m very proud of the work of the PA Anti-Human Trafficking Caucus for putting this issue at the forefront of legislation aimed at protecting our most vulnerable. by @repburgos

Peace ☮️ in our community starts with our young people.

I had a great time at the International Day of Peace Celebration in Fairhill, joining Councilmember Quetcy Lozada, Rep. Danilo Burgos, students, families, community partners, and neighbors for a day filled with positivity, connection, and fun.

The Peace Walk was a powerful way to bring everyone together and remind us that we all have a role to play in building safer, stronger communities.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day special. 💛🙌

Let’s continue choosing peace, supporting our youth, and looking out for one another. ✌️💛

We had a busy start to Hispanic Heritage Month!

On Tuesday, members of our caucus were proud to represent the legislative body at the Governor’s annual Hispanic Heritage Month reception - thank you, @governorshapiro, for the warm welcome!

On Wednesday, we participated in a morning panel at the annual Latino State of the Union health summit, hosted by Latino Connection. The discussion focused on the challenges and inequities our communities face in accessing healthcare.

Later on Wednesday, staff representing the Latino caucus attended a ceremony marking the 216th anniversary of Mexican Independence Day - Gracias @consulmexfila by @repburgos
