TOMORROW: Due to the ongoing toxic chemical emergency in Garden Grove, I will be holding a Community Meeting at CSUF Titan Student Union (800 N State College Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92831) from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Tuesday, May 26, in place of my previously scheduled town hall to discuss potential options for recourse and resources to address displacement and financial burden due to the “Western Incident.” Doors will open at 3:30 PM, followed by a Q&A from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM with me, followed by opportunities to speak with consumer protection professionals and learn more about resources available to you. I’m closely monitoring the ongoing Western Incident in Garden Grove. Fire crews have stabilized the tank’s temperature to prevent a spill or rupture. Evacuation orders for ~40,000 of our neighbors remain strictly in place. I will be fully briefed by emergency officials shortly and will provide updates as I receive them.Evacuation orders remain in place as follows:- North of Trask Avenue- South of Ball Road- East of Valley View Street- West of Dale StreetPlease visit ggcity.org/emergency for a real-time map of evacuation zones and emergency hotline information.Evacuation Centers are open to assist residents impacted by the Western Incident: - Savanna High School: 301 N. The NDAA invests over $1 trillion in the U.S. military, with billions for President Trump’s reckless war in Iran, but lacks critical investments in the wellbeing of our service members and strengthening of our national security. When so many families across Orange and LA counties are struggling with high costs of living, I will not authorize over a trillion dollars in spending that doesn’t serve the American people. by @repderektran
