January 3rd, 2020, I found my dawg, my best friend Levi dead on the couch, lifeless. I never really talked about this, kept the pain, the trauma bottled up for so long… For years, I blamed myself, wondering why I didn’t get there quicker, why didn’t I notice something sooner? Why did I leave him by himself? You’d think that kind of trauma would make you get sober, but it pushes you deeper into drugs just to escape the pain. Today, I live with purpose because I made it out, and Levi didn’t. I can’t change the past, but I can make my life mean something & do my best to live for the both of us.
