This month's visit to the Field of Fun at @lestersfarmmarket was the perfect rest-and-reset experience for us. We laughed so much, and the grown-ups played like little children. This recap video attempts to capture a bit of the day's whimsy and magic.

🌵The Resilient Foreigners Connect program is dedicated to building belonging, resilience and social connectedness amongst our newcomers. We've been hosting monthly meetups to reduce isolation, spark friendships, and help participants feel more connected to the province through community exploration. 🥰

It's always so energizing to speak with international students!

There's usually a medley of aspiration and despair.
But, mostly enthusiasm.

The waves of migration are usually rough. But some of us, like Franklin Onwa and Abu Arif, are seasoned captains who can help international students to survive the stormy times.

The 3 of us were invited to share about our journeys navigating life in NL after our degrees. But, so much of the post-graduation life was built by the moves and mentors we made during our studies.

Special shout out to Dr. Amy Warren who has taught me so much over the years.

Special thanks to the @sbgs_mun for inviting us to this event.

It was a lovely opportunity for me to be a lighthouse encouraging our grad students to employ the strategies that allow them to be seen, supported and successful in their pursuits. by @resilientforeigner

Visit your local @nlpublibraries to borrow a copy of Becoming the Resilient Foreigner!

I stopped by the Marjorie Mews Library, here in St. John's, and received such a warm welcome from the staff, Kait and Kelly.

Whether you're in Conception Bay South, Gander, Corner Brook or Grand Falls-Windsor, a copy is waiting on the shelves for you. All throughout the province, you can checkout a copy and dive into the stories and strategies that so many others have found life-changing.

In July, we gathered for a picnic and playtime in the park. We made some new connections, caught up with familiar faces and had lots of opportunities to laugh.

A cup grab challenge
Silly paintings
A colour hunt that had us roaming the park, playground and streets
A bit of badminton
Running around in the drizzle
A singalong with an acoustic guitar

A beautiful time was had.
