This book isn’t about me. It’s about the consumer. And after successfully exiting my business I figured it was the perfect time to wrap up the last chapter because I didn’t really have a good ending figured out.

I didn’t write this book to say, “Look what I did.” I wrote it because I know what it feels like to build something from nothing… while silently falling apart behind the scenes.

I know what it’s like to chase a better life for you, your family, your future and end up questioning if it’s even worth it.

The guilt.

The pressure.

Everyone claps when you win but nobody talks about what it costs to get there. Physically - Mentally- Emotionally.

I wanted to write a book I wish I had. Not some guru book that wants you to sign up for their course at the end.

Something real.
.
Not a highlight reel.
.
Not a millionaire fantasy.
.
Just the truth about building a better life, holding your family together, and trying not to lose yourself in the process.

If you’re grinding every day for something bigger, if you’ve ever felt like no one gets you or what you’re going through I feel you & this book is for you.

You’re not alone.
You’re not crazy.
And yes it’s worth it.

Ps. I am not teaching anything in this book. This isn’t some chat gpt book to get rich. I wrote this on my MacBook & my wife did the revisions because I write and spell like a 3rd grader. Do not buy this book thinking there are hacks and business tips. Maybe one day but that’s not for me right now. This book is solely written for the ones who feel a little lost trying to build a better life. June 4th give it a read ✌🏽

Behind every move I make, every goal I chase, she’s there, supporting me, believing in me at times where I didn’t even believe in me, and pushing me to be better. She holds it down through the highs the lows, never asking for credit but always being my biggest supporter. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Thanks for being my super woman and holding everything down so we can continue to build our lives and shape our future the way we want it.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt 🙏🏽
.
This one means a lot to me.
.
Between training and coaching, jiu jitsu has become a pretty big part of my life. And like anything else, there are plenty of days where it would be easier to skip it, stay home, or tell yourself you’ll go tomorrow.
.
But that’s really what I’ve learned to appreciate about it.
.
You don’t get better by talking about it. You get better by showing up.
.
Training when you’re tired. Coaching when you’ve got a million other things going on. Taking a beating most days, learning something, and coming back again.
.
Business is really no different.
.
Most of the progress comes from doing the boring stuff consistently long after the excitement wears off. Showing up when nobody is watching. Staying with it when quitting would be easier.
.
So yeah, it might be “ just a belt “ for most.
.
But for me, it represents a lot of long hours, a lot of showing up, and becoming a little more disciplined along the way.
.
Grateful for my Coaches, everyone I train with, everyone I get to coach.

Q3 close-out on @restoramax

My partner came up from Maryland Friday and we spent the full day in the office pulling the quarter apart what’s making money and what isn’t, where jobs are stalling, what our constraints are, which processes are holding and which ones broke the second we scaled past them. Dialing in our lead scoures to become more predictable, Who we hire next, why and when.

Then we sat talked and built Q4 goals.

One quarter left in year one. We’re pushing to close it at a number most companies don’t hit untill year 3. In a market I’d never operated in, built from zero. No hot book of business, no local network handed to us. Just the playbook, run again.

Saturday and Sunday we got out on the water and made it to Montauk to end it with the families.

That’s the whole thing. Do the work with someone who takes it as seriously as you do, then go enjoy it cause … why else?

Happy 4th Birthday to King Z

It feels like yesterday I was holding you as a baby, and now you’re growing into the most amazing little boy. Where did 4 damn years go lol Watching you get older is one of the greatest joys of my life, even if a part of me wishes I could slow time down just a little.

You are so smart, so courageous, and you give your absolute best in everything you do at such a young age. Your kindness, your manners, and the way you light up every room you walk into make me proud every single day. The world needs more hearts like yours.

As your getting older, you’re more than just my son you’re my built-in best bud. Whether we’re going on adventures, laughing together, or just spending time side by side, those are my favorite moments

Thank you for changing my life in every possible way. Being your dad is the greatest blessing I could ever ask for, and I’ll always be your biggest fan my dude

Some advice for whoever wants it: Everybody wants to start a business because they see the lifestyle… the money… the freedom… the posts all over the Instagram glamorizing it.

And in the beginning, it feels amazing.
Your friends support you.
Your family reposts your stuff.
You get your first few sales and you start thinking, “Yo… this might actually work.”

But then reality hits.

The support slows down.
People stop checking in because they think you’re already “doing good.”
The excitement dies off.

Now it’s just you.
Working late nights.
Stress nobody sees.
Figuring things out on your own.
Losing sleep wondering if you’re even making the right decisions.

That’s the part nobody posts.

Building a business isn’t sexy.
Maybe for the first few weeks or months… but after that …
It gets lonely.
It gets frustrating.
It gets mentally exhausting.

And this is usually the moment where people quit.
They start thinking:
Maybe this isn’t for me.
Maybe I’m not cut out for this.
Or Damn… this is way harder than I thought.

And the truth is… it is fucking hard. That’s why majority fail.

The people that actually make it aren’t always the smartest or most talented. They’re usually just the ones willing to keep going when your backs against the wall it stops being exciting.

So before you start a business because it looks cool online… really think about what comes after the hype. Because once the claps stop… the real work begins.

And if you’re at that stage right now…
Where you’re questioning everything, overthinking every move, or realizing business is a lot heavier than you expected… just know you’re not the only one.

I actually wrote a book about a lot of this stuff a while back the pressure, the mindset, the struggles behind building something for real. It ended up becoming a Top 5 entrepreneurship book on Amazon when it dropped.

Yesterday I turned 32.
.
And instead of rushing past it and work through my birthday ( which I normally do cause I hate birthdays lol ) I’ve been sitting with it and took a step back Cause 32 … what the F? Lol

Spent it chillen with the fam playing in the snow but It started to hit me like always on my birthday lol looking around and thinking how much “life” happened to get to this point in time.

By 31, I had built a business in an industry I’ve been in for 15 years, that was my baby. I poured everything into it late nights, early mornings, stress, sacrifice, hard work. All that jibber jabber for 7 years .. then I sold it. Following that fortunately I was able to do some really cool things. Pay off my house, buy rental property. Invested in some real estate. Helped people along the way. Started a few more businesses. Provided jobs. Created opportunities. Things I once prayed for as wild lil kid became reality. Things that people work 40+ years to accomplish. That’s not to brag, it’s just reality.

But what people don’t always talk about is what comes after the “ win “

Selling the business brought highs & excitement … and also some unexpected lows. A shift in identity. Stillness. Quiet moments. Some self doubt. Learning who I am without a business defining me. ( been doing the same thing since I was 16 ) Learning how to slow down. Learning that peace matters just as much as progress. And it took a little bit of time. But I would do it all over again.

Over the last 31 years, I’ve learned that success without gratitude is empty. That money comes and goes, but time doesn’t. That faith carries you when motivation disappears. And that god’s timing is always better than your own plans, even when you don’t understand it in the moment. Money comes and goes it always will. But time is the one thing God gives us that we can never earn back. Not matter how hard you work. Once a moment passes, it’s done. That realization changed how I live, how I work, and what I prioritize. Being present has become the biggest blessing, something I struggled with my whole life, still do.
