Meet MRD! Here’s a quick reminder of who we are and why we’re here.

We are Restore the Mississippi River Delta (MRD), a coalition of four national and local organizations: Environmental Defense Fund, National Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation, and Pontchartrain Conservancy.

Together, we work to restore coastal Louisiana and advance an equitable, safer, and flourishing coast for the communities, ecosystems, and economy that depend on it.

We coordinate with community members and leaders, local organizations, legislators and coastal stakeholders to accelerate large-scale restoration projects, support community voices, and promote science-based solutions.

If you want to learn more about who we are and what we do, stay tuned for our upcoming posts highlighting the teams that make up our coalition.

On Friday, PC’s Chief Scientist, Dr. Eva Hillmann, led a tour up the Blind River in partnership with the @restoredelta Coalition in celebration of World Rivers Day!

Rivers are essential to our communities, ecosystems, and wildlife. They provide vital habitats, support biodiversity, transport nutrients, and connect our communities to the surrounding environment. Protecting and restoring our rivers is critical to the health and resilience of our coast.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to explore, learn, and celebrate the rivers that sustain our region! 💙 by @restoredelta
