“I had never been up this way, so the place was all novel to me. The first thing that hit me was the terrain. Though mid angle and high-altitude were the name of the game for our tour, the options are endless on runs that push into the 4k vert realm. Jump spots, big lines, pillows, tree riding, it can all be had in this massive tenure nestled in the heart of the Selkirks between Kaslo and New Denver. Our guides, Roger and Paul, knew where and when to put us to find the best snow, and if we didn’t find it, Paul assured us his route was great, and we just went the wrong way…”

Annual off-grid reset at Retallack Lodge with the Phlock of Phriends. Another life altering experience.

Mint conditions and guiding on the hill everyday and a full PA system in the cat for boundless musical rides back up the mountain between runs.

Every day was followed by heavy duty sauna sessions and cold plunges in the creek to reset before gathering for grub.

Delectable dinners each evening from the Guuurrl Kitchen, mind melting sorbets for desert, followed by incessant friendly gambling on everything and anything in the bar, and a week long tuneful odyssey in the laser filled living room.

Staying an extra couple days to help with the staff party was an honour. Got to cook a little Bastid’s BBQ for the crew on the off night and give a little Dj lesson whilst rinsing foundational drum and bass and jungle records. The staff day on the hill was yet another pow-filled adventure, followed by another Format Error B2B with my guy Skratch Bastid. We have the funnest time playing tunes together as the vibes and the genres are truly endless. Said vibes got extra thick when the one and only Lorne B jumped in the mix with the starch adding to the thickness of the musical sauce. Shouts for the set as well.

Managed to find some Hooké Outside by the River action as well.

So many smiles, so many laughs, so many Phriends, old and new as the Phlock continues to grow.

Eternally grateful for Phil, Paul, and the entire Retallack Lodge staff. Top notch operators and humans all around.

PHASE 004: THE NATURAL EVOLUTION
2010-2014 / The progression felt natural. The park kids grew up, but they never stopped playing. Taking to the mountains, and hitting natural features became the new language of style. The @retallacklodge collaboration proved what we already knew; it was the height of expression, where experience met instinct and style met terrain.

Well that’s a wrap on the 2025 winter season!!

At the beginning of April the staff got to have a little fun in the spring pow⚡️

Shout out to our amazing staff for killing it every year and providing the best times for our guests and to the best guests ever for the continuous support. Can’t wait to see you all again next year. Happy summer ❤️
