For a lot of the older-school crowd Saturday at @bloodstockopenair was all about the return of Nevermore and hearing them belt out the likes of ‘Beyond Within’, ‘Born’ and ‘Enemies Of Reality’ made for a stunning and nostalgic hour dedicated to their unique sound. The day also featured a spellbinding Sophie stage headlining performance by Leprous, fine sets from the crushing Sanguisugabogg and Death Angel, some well needed black metal from @imperialdemonic on the New Blood alongside the progtastic @imbriumband , @wailingbansheeofficial over in @bloodstockvip ,, previous @retribution.alive destroyers @urneband and @inhumannature on the Ronnie James Dio stage, Kent Metal 2 The Masses winners @vampyra.official official ramming the New Blood tent and sending everyone bat crazy and @froglordband making me want to form a band called Toadking, just to challenge them to an epic doom battle to the death, in a swamp, on the hottest day of the year. Also managed to catch bits of... Stampin Ground, Tempest Saint, Celestial Sanctuary, Dead Bait, @imperialage (one of hardly any power metal bands across the weekend), Outergods and possibly more but one forgets... taken in Bloodstock Festival by @retribution.alive
