I am thrilled to present a sneak peek of my upcoming solo exhibition at the Space Place Gallery, which opens tomorrow, December 24. This collection of images represents some new work created over the last two years. I am grateful for the opportunity to share these physical images with a new and diverse audience on the other side of the globe. @benjamin_fargen @spaceplaceone #blackandwhitephotography #photoshow #newwork #contemporaryart #photogallery by @retrocameracool

Hello Everyone! I’m moving the Retro Camera Cool Blog to a Newsletter on Substack. I started the RCC website and corresponding Instagram page back in January 2019. I wanted a place to share my projects and feature interviews with fellow photographers I enjoyed. As the years have moved on since starting RCC it’s been harder and harder to find the time and motivation to continue the daily IG posts and interview articles. It takes a special kind of person to devote their time and energy to other people’s work. Sometimes I can be that person, but I cannot in my creative life right now. Initially, I hoped RCC would catch on and have a symbiotic relationship via Instagram. Unfortunately, that ship has sailed, and I no longer have an interest in using Instagram as a means of sharing. Many of the photographers I featured provided some great interviews and images to go along with them. I will move the archived articles here so that new people can enjoy them. The initial vision for RCC was to feature only film photographers and film photo-related gear reviews. I’ve since decided that is a minimal scope. Although most of the content will still be related to photography, I will feature all forms of visual inspiration that are worthy via this newsletter, regardless of the medium. I will still accept submissions for my 10-question interview series and will post these as soon as possible. The convenience and community platform on Substack will inspire me to share more of my work, including laying out my new book and sharing great visuals from other artists I feel could inspire us all. Please choose to subscribe to my new newsletter and follow along on this continued journey. You can find the new link to subscribe up top in the profile. See you over on Substack! This is a long overdue shout out and mini review of the book NOTICE by Wesley Verhoeve. @wesley I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book, the photography is wonderful and the story behind the book is excellent as well. I’d also like to throw a shout out to @danrubin for his beautiful design and layout work on the book. I know his input and feedback was critical during the concept and creation of the finished product. Cheers, Benjamin by @retrocameracool
