Outbreak Fest 2026, Manchester UK
A PERFECT WEEKEND OF MUSIC, COMMUNITY, FITS
Core memories stored of my favorite bands playing my favorite songs while slithering through the crowd to make it closer and closer to the front through each set while making friends along the way.

I have many bruises on my body to show of this endeavor along with some stickers from new friends, a couple notes on my phone of IG handles to follow, a bracelet from my Spaniard husband, merch, an entry wristband I'll take off maybe sometime, busted wired headphones from a sunscreen explosion in my bum bag, a missing film camera, and still some sore ass legs.

Let's run it back next year.

I spoke of Drinking Bird on Tuesday this week, and this morning I was watching back and editing a Qigong video I filmed early last month I once again found myself in Drinking Bird practice - this time with support from my mare, Poppie, benefiting from this work, too.

Drinking Bird is a form that is supportive to all of our Yin organs - kidneys, liver, heart, spleen and lungs.
The qualities of Yin are dense, earth, corporeal, dark, feminine, body, winter, north.

What inspires me about this name is the drinking part - reminding me to dip down, cool off, tend to my physical body that is the vessel, and bird - my Shen spirit that resides in my heart - needing a cool, calm and collected place to rest as it travels in and out of my body to connect me with higher consciousness that informs this earthly body.

Our hearts are the nest where our spirits reside, where the Yang of the spirit meets the Yin of the body.
As we enter in to the time of year that is Fire within Fire within Fire, really (Fire is our season of summer with blossoming qualities, and the energetics of the year are Yang Fire Horse), I am being reminded again and again the importance of the connection with the Yin and the quality of care to self and others that is grounding, receptive, feminine, and nourishing.

To be in touch with the Earth at this time is to give space to the heart.

While it is encouraged to let the heart be up in flames in love, passion, excitement, visibility - we must not forget to fan the flames with oxygen and stay connected to our logs of spring which are our source of rootedness and where we stay attached to earth. Otherwise, we will combust and burn everything down around us, including ourselves.
Poppie essence stabilizes fire energy yet doesn’t dilute the radiance that comes from the heart.
Me and Poppie - my beautiful, feminine, wild, free, open, kind, fierce mare - gently share this reminder of passion with you that is rooted in being where your feet are, pausing between the upward dance of flames, hydrating yourself and taking moments to settle before the next surge of flames courses through being.

Shoutout to Martin for his aurrrraaaa are you kidding me???

I’ve never been to a rave or an EDM concert before this night and holy shit…I get in now.
What a perfect place to be immersed in happiness, music vibrating through my body, athletic skills in full display as I jumped around for 3 hours straight in pure bliss.

If the dance floor doesn’t look like slide 1 I don’t want it lol. Slide 3 is when things got reallll sexy, wow Mr Garrix. Dancing with my girls was a highlight but really bouncing around dancing by myself was so cathartic and so me - enjoying the fuck out of my own company 😇 taken in The Gorge Ampitheatre by @returningtoshen

Scorpio Full Moon edition, a couple weeks back. Late to post but can’t miss talking about a transformative weekend. I beared my feble vulnerability to someone I’m supposed to inherently trust only to be shown how unsafe my entire life has been attuning to someone so fucking miserable and unfit for the job of parent.
I used to think cutting people off was lazy, but now I realize it’s self preserving.
After having this breakdown of realization, in true healed-me nature I bounced back to being an absolute menace of grace and beauty and had the most fabulous time being myself, for myself, all weekend long.
The highlights of this moon were crying, transforming in real time, going after what I want and getting it (a kiss), protecting myself from leaches, not giving a fuccccckkkk, and leaning into vanity and being unapologetically in love with myself.
The reality is life can always be glamorous even in the trenches. You can cry and serve at the same time. Don’t let anyone know your next move, but actually. Fuck the haters - especially those in disguise, y’all downright mean and that shit is unattractive 😘 by @returningtoshen

You may ask, what is Carbon Cowgirl? How are horses, qigong and land management related?

First off, welcome. And thank you for your curiosity.

In this clip from a longer video, I found myself speaking spontaneously about the ecosystem of this space that is Carbon Cowgirl.

This “container” is my life - something I’ve intentionally cultivated - and now the only path forward is to share it with others through my work.

Carbon Cowgirl is where regeneration begins with connection. From the carbon in our soils to the breath in our bodies, life consist of the same essential building blocks.

At Carbon Cowgirl, I honor this truth through three branches: land stewardship, equine partnership, and embodied energy practices.
