Congratulations to Coach Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks on an incredible 2026 season!

What she builds goes far beyond wins and losses. Season after season, she walks into that program and makes people believe in themselves, in each other, in something bigger than any single game.

That’s not just coaching. That’s mindset architecture at the highest level.

At @reulay , we study exactly this. The neuroscience of what Coach Staley @staley05 does is extraordinary — she builds self-efficacy in athletes at the highest level.

The genuine, neurologically-rooted belief that you are capable. Research shows that belief, more than talent, more than strategy, is what determines how players perform when everything is on the line.

Dawn Staley trains that. Every day. And it’s exactly what our Reulay platform is built to help every person develop the mindset training that holds when pressure is highest.

This season was another chapter in one of the greatest coaching careers in the history of the sport. And it isn’t over.

Thank you Coach Staley. What you build lasts longer than any scoreboard. 🙏 by @reulay

Most people don’t want a winning mindset. They want the trophy.
And that distinction is exactly why most people plateau.
A winning mindset is uncomfortable. It means choosing to do the hard rep when no one’s watching. It means sitting with failure long enough to learn from it instead of running. It means caring more about the process than the result — even when the result is all you originally came for.
Here’s what the neuroscience actually says about people who win consistently:
They don’t think about winning. They think about the next action. Outcome focus floods the brain with cortisol and shuts down the prefrontal cortex the part that executes skill. Process focus keeps it online.
They treat setbacks as data. Not as proof they were wrong to try. The brain rewires through failure when you frame it correctly. It shrinks when you run from it.
They prime before they perform. Cold exposure, breathing protocols, mental rehearsal not for motivation, but to neurologically prepare the brain for the demand ahead.
The mindset that wins isn’t the one that wants it most. It’s the one that shows up the most especially when it doesn’t feel like it.
Are you training your mindset or just hoping for the outcome? 👇

Can you get stronger without lifting?

Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic tested it. For 12 weeks, one group only imagined working a muscle, 15 minutes a day, with no weights and no movement.

Their finger strength went up 35%. A second group doing the same with the elbow gained 13.5%. The people who physically trained gained 53%, so lifting still wins. But the mental group had done no physical training at all.

The muscle didn’t change first. The signal from the brain to the muscle got stronger.

Every rep starts as a signal from your brain. Train the signal, not just the muscle.

You train the body. Now train the mind behind it.

Women live longer than men. Almost nobody asks what shape those extra years are in.

Researchers followed more than 159,000 women for up to 26 years. The most optimistic quarter lived 5.4% longer than the least optimistic, and were 10% more likely to reach 90. The effect held across every racial and ethnic group in the study.

Mindset is not separate from women’s health. It is part of it.

You track everyone else’s needs before your own. Your MindSpan is not a luxury. It’s the years you get to spend as yourself.

Your brain quits before your body does.

In 2012, researchers had cyclists race an on-screen avatar they were told was their own personal best. It wasn’t. It was secretly set about 1% faster.

They kept up anyway, and beat their previous best by roughly 2%.

Their bodies had more in them the whole time. What set the ceiling was the brain’s prediction of what was possible. Change the belief and the body follows.

Most limits placed on you are someone’s guess. Including your own.

A limit is a prediction. Not a wall. Train the brain that makes the prediction.

Everybody can shoot. Everybody can run. So what actually separates them?

At the highest level, the physical gap closes. Same conditioning. Same reps. Same film.

What separates them is the night before. What happens after the mistake. The last four minutes, when the body is already tired and the decision still has to be right.

Nobody scouts for that. Everybody loses to it.

You can measure everything else. The one thing you can’t see is the one that decides. And it’s the only one nobody trains.

The people who did best had the strongest relationships. How satisfied they were with their relationships at 50 predicted their health at 80 better than their cholesterol did.

This isn’t only a Harvard finding. A review of 148 studies covering over 300,000 people found that people with strong social ties had a 50% greater likelihood of survival over the study period. The U.S. Surgeon General has compared the health risk of loneliness to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.

Connection is not a soft metric. It is one of the strongest longevity levers you have.

You can win every number and still lose the years.

Success is who is still at the table. Be present enough to keep them there.

You can go anywhere. So why does your mind keep going to the same places?

The same worry. The same replay. The same ceiling.

Viktor Frankl was a psychiatrist who survived four concentration camps. Everything was taken from him. He wrote that one thing still remained: “the last of the human freedoms: to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.”

If that held there, it holds in traffic. In a hard meeting. At 2am.

Freedom is not the absence of pressure. It is choosing who you are inside it.

A free mind is not found. It is trained.
