Seitdem ich letzte Woche in Srebrenica war, lässt mich diese grausame Geschichte unserer Vorfahren nicht mehr los.

Heute gedenken wir der Opfer des belagerten Sarajevo. Im Durchschnitt schlug alle 22 Sekunden eine Granate in der Stadt ein. Am heutigen Tag 1993 wurden 3.777 Granaten auf Sarajevo abgefeuert – ein erschütternder Rekord gegen eine Hauptstadt mitten in Europa.

Wir dürfen die Opfer nicht vergessen.

Today we remember The Legendary Muslim Knights ⚜️ of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who protected and defended their homeland at the heart of Europe from Serb extremists who who wanted to create a greater Serbia ethno-state. Among them were “Knights of The Elite 505th Bužim Knight Brigade” and many other Muslim Brigades, whose courage, sacrifice, and discipline became symbols of endurance and faith under persecution.

Don’t ever let Serb ultranationalists tell you “Bosnians don’t exist” or reduce you to “just a Serb who converted to Islam.” Know your history because it’s your strongest defense against propaganda.
Long before the Ottomans, Bosnia had its own distinct religious identity through the Bogomils and the Bosnian Church, a mystical religion strongly rejected by both Catholic and Orthodox authorities, so much so that there were crusades launched against these “Bosnian heretics.”
Bogomilis were deeply mystical believing that the entire material world was an evil creation by Satan and that the human body was the only true temple once it became purified through specific practices. They didn’t speak much, were very reserved and modest. They practiced vegetarianism in order to purify the body, and thus, the soul. They believed that The Old Testament was the work of Satan. They rejected the cross as a satanic symbol and strongly rejected church hierarchy. Bogomils emphasized strict discipline, fasting, rejection of idols, rejection of alcohol and a direct relationship with God. So when the Ottomans arrived, majority of Bogomils converted to Islam because they found aspects of Islam to be similar to their own practices. And that’s how Bosnia became Muslim :)🇧🇦☪️
Again, know your history and don’t let anyone reduce you to just a “Serb who converted to Islam.” And for those who keep commenting these ridiculous claims, know that you’re giving me more myths to debunk.
