BEFORE AND AFTER 👏👏. Our entryway was feeling a little bleak when we first arrived in Portland on a rainy day in December of 2020. We fell in love with the house, in part, because of all the gorgeous Douglas Fir millwork. However, we wondered out loud, “Why oh why was the wood trend so dark, ye of olden days??!”. After talking to three paint contractors who vehemently encouraged us to PAINT all of the wood white, we finally found a crew willing to take on the job of sanding it all down. We were living at home as a crew of four men spent 6 weeks sanding. GAH! It sounded like a gigantic beehive from 2 blocks away! Literally, how am I still sane and still with my Dougie? Anyway, it is the absolute best decision we made. The millwork has a gorgeous deep honey glow that warms the soul. I found this rug and runner both @rejuvenation and they fit perfectly. Now Pagey has the perfect cozy spot to watch the crows and squirrels. #interiordesignerportland #interiordesigner #interiordesign #design #artist #portlandartist #prairiehousepdx taken in Portland, Oregon by @revivalroom

This is an awesome fall cocktail and my current favorite so I wanted to share.

Black Manhattan:
(pronounced Maa-hattin')

2 oz. Whiskey
1 oz. Averna
1 Dash Angostura Bitters
Optional:
Dash of Regan's orange bitters no. 6

Shake it up, strain into coupe glasses and garnish with cherry and orange.
Mwa! Delicious.

Oh baby oh baby oh! This coffee table(s) is actually 4 tables, constructed out of the 100 year old wood reclaimed from our remodel. It is so special and so gorgeous! We are having a full circle moment over here!! Thank you thank Tim Harmon ( not on IG!) for the incredible craftsmanship #portland #portlandinteriordesign #portlanddesign #portlandartist by @revivalroom

Glove molds: Are they cute, yay or nay? I vote yay! They are quirky and fun, no??? Doug and Georgia and Page (and pretty much everyone I ask) unanimously vote nay. HARD NAY. Thoughts? Friends, have you ever been in this dilemma? People are coming over for dinner. In this scenario these are “new” friends. These are hopeful friends. You are social climbing, the invite is impromptu, and you are in a pickle. You have no gorgeous tablescape prepared. Total. Nightmare. Situation. Well, friends, all you need to do is grab some of your fruit on hand and arrange it in a beautiful bowl on the table. It brings instant color and life to the table. Voila! You are climbing strata, my friend. Seriously. 💙🍊💙. TBT: This is a little sweetie that I picked up @alamedaantiquesfaire and painted for a client’s kitchen area. I don’t know what I am most excited to do when the world reopens, but flea market tourism is high on the list. What’s that? Oh so so sorry....I have to go, Paris is calling... 💗💗💗 #fleamarketstyle #fleamarketfinds #fleamarketdecor #fleamarketflip #pdxdesign #interiordesign #interiorstyle #paintedfurniture #pdxdesigner #pdxartist #designwithcolor #curatedhome #collectedhome by @revivalroom
