We’re running for Congo, and we need you at the start line.

Did you know only 23% of people in Congo have IT skills? That’s not a statistic — that’s millions of young adults with potential and no pathway to use it.

This September, we’re taking action.

Join us at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday, 19th September, for Run For Congo, a 5K or 10K that funds IT training for young adults in the DRC.

Every kilometre you run puts a skill in someone’s hands. Every registration brings us closer to a Congo where opportunity is no longer a privilege.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park · 5K | 10K

Ready to run? Comment ‘RUN’ below, and we’ll send you everything you need to register. Spots are limited! 👇

One runner. One cause. One nation 🇨🇩

Today, @makethetimefit ran not just for fitness or fame but for Revive Congo, and for every soul back home fighting battles the world too often ignores.

Congo is hurting. Our people are crying out. But in the middle of the chaos, there are hearts that still believe in healing. In unity. In change.

This run is more than miles it’s a message: we have not forgotten who we are.

Let’s stand together. Let’s rise for Congo. Let’s revive what’s ours.

Meet Maryanne.

One of our IT programme alumni, sharing in her own words how the training changed things for her.

From learning the basics to gaining real, usable skills, Maryanne’s story is exactly why we do this work. Watch to hear what the programme meant for her.

This is what happens when young Congolese adults are given the chance to build IT skills and grow with confidence. Maryanne is proof that talent only needs opportunity to grow.

More stories like hers are coming. Follow along to meet the people behind Revive Congo’s IT programme.

Swipe to see how my first ever 10K went... it was an absolute movie! 🎬👉🏾

If you told me this time last year that I’d be crossing a 10K finish line, I would have laughed. I started running to look after my health. It was out of my comfort zone, but what started as a chore quickly became a hobby I genuinely enjoyed.

Running for a cause was always on my bucket list. I even told my cousins in our group chat that I wanted to do it one day. Just weeks later, @revivecongo (a charity I’ve followed since 2018) announced a fundraiser run for the youth of the DR Congo. As a Congolese man who speaks passionately about issues in our country, this hit incredibly close to home. I signed up immediately. Then, the craziest week happened.

On Wednesday 16th September—just three days before the race—I went for a routine tempo run. With zero expectations, I set THREE PBs in one session! I broke my 1-mile PB in lap 1, beat that again in lap 2, and walked away with new 1-mile, 2-mile, and 5K (31:17) records. By race day on Saturday 19th September, the stage fright was very real. I usually don’t like major attention, and standing at the line, it hit me that people would be watching. But with the incredible energy from the stewards, bystanders, fellow runners, friends, and family, I pushed through the nerves and ran the entire 10K from start to finish. And the results? We absolutely smashed the records:

⏱️ 5K PB: From Wednesday’s 31:17 down to 29:25 mid-race!
⏱️ 5-Mile PB: From 55:44 (set 10th Sept) down to 48:02!
⏱️ 10K PB: Previous best was 1:13:07 in March. Crossed the line in 59:50—sub 60 mins!

Meeting the team and other passionate fundraisers was an absolute highlight. Thank you to everyone who cheered, supported, and donated. This is definitely not the last time you’ll see me on a race course! 🇨🇩❤️

The weekend was an absolute movie for us at Revive Congo! 🎬🇨🇩

We took part in the @runthroughuk Olympic Park 5K/10K alongside some amazing supporters and what a day it was! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

☀️ The sun was out
✨ The vibes were immaculate
🍩 The mikate was *lush*
❤️ And, most importantly, we raised nearly £3,000!

This incredible amount will help us set up our official IT Centre in Kinshasa, where we’ll train young Congolese people in essential IT and digital skills.

As technology continues to advance, we believe young people in Congo must not be left behind. Since 2024, we’ve already trained over 90 young people, and their ambition, work ethic and incredible testimonials continue to inspire us.

This is only the beginning. 🇨🇩💻

If you don’t already, follow us to keep up with everything we’re doing and make sure you don’t miss what’s coming next!

And to everyone who has asked whether it’s too late to donate, absolutely not! 🙌🏾

Every donation makes a difference. ❤️

Head to the link in our bio to donate and support the next generation of young Congolese talent. 🇨🇩

Nearly 15 years ago, God gave Lakeisha and me a mandate to start @revivecongo 💙

Nearly 15 years later, Revive Congo is registered in both the UK and Congo, and together we have had the privilege of educating, equipping and empowering over 200 of Congo’s future leaders. 📚🎒💻🏫

And yesterday… was an absolute movie! 🙌🏾🇨🇩

To run alongside some of our incredible supporters and raise funds to establish our IT Skills Centre in Kinshasa, a space where young adults can gain valuable IT skills and opportunities for their future was phenomenal. I’m honestly still not over it! 🥹

I want to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who has supported us. Whether your contribution was big or small, please know that it matters. Every donation, every prayer, every share, every word of encouragement and every step you took with us means more than you know.

I trained and prepared for this 10K because, while planning and leading this work is important, I wanted to physically take part and demonstrate my personal commitment to this mission and to the people of Congo.

I dedicated this run to the Congolese heroes, those who are no longer with us because of tragedy, war and conflict, and those we continue to fight for, believe in and stand alongside as we work towards a better Congo.

This run was about so much more than the 10K I ran.

It was about hope.
It was about opportunity.
It was about legacy.
It was about Congo. 🇨🇩❤️

And it’s not too late to donate!

We’re keeping the donation link open as we continue pushing towards our goal of establishing the IT Skills Centre in Kinshasa.

If you’re able to give, the link is in our bio.🙏🏾

Thank you for running with us in every sense of the word.

First i want to honour the 27 school children who tragically lost their lives in last week’s fire in Congo. May the souls rest in peace 🙏🏾🤎🇨🇩

Secondly a big well done to @revivecongo and the team, supporters and runners who have helped to raise nearly £3000 to fund young people in Congo to access digital skills and training.

It’s hard to ignore the irony that a country whose resources help power the world’s technology still has so many young people without access to the digital skills needed to participate in that future.

There’s still time to contribute and give to the cause (donation link in bio)

As always

Thank you for the support 🙏🏾🤎🇨🇩 by @revivecongo

From Eddie Kadi to the next generation of builders, creators and developers, Congo has never been short on talent. What it needs is opportunity.

*The end of a fruitful partnership*

For nearly a decade, we’ve been proud to support Mission Mère Marie Orphanage.

Over the last seven years, our focus has been primary education — helping seven children access schooling and build brighter futures.

We are so grateful for the love, support and encouragement shared throughout this journey.

The environment children grow up in matters deeply to Revive Congo. As we continue to prioritise education, ensuring the quality of that environment for every child remains just as important to us.

As we bring this chapter to a close, Revive Congo will fund one final academic year to support a smooth transition.

To everyone who has been part of this journey with us — thank you. We’ll keep you updated on our future plans to continue supporting primary education. by @revivecongo
