I really enjoyed “I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself” by the same author so I was excited to dig into this one. They are VERY different books and I would have had a better time re-reading Exoskeletons. This one was not my favourite but I will still keep an eye out for whatever they write next.

Local art. The resemblance to Sam may not be coincidental.

My most recent geeky deep dive. From left to right starting at the back:

Remember when movies were routinely turned into novels? This one is a pretty accurate retelling of the story with an absurd fixation on breasts that is not present in the film. (Why? No thank you!)

I didn’t know what to expect with this one but I enjoyed it and would be interested in checking out more titles in the series. Part memoir, part film history/criticism. Enjoyable even if you aren’t overly familiar with the film.

Packaging this book like a VHS tape is fun and the content interesting if you’re a fan.

I love a truly unpredictable story and this is that. A story that includes Meister Eckhart, the Beguines and a modern day porn star? I was intrigued and never quite knew what was going to happen next.

After reading it I also wondered if there was a connection between this book and a nearby local theatre of the same name and was pleased to discover there is!

I am just a boy, looking at a girl, begging her to take me outside.
