We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Jenn Charlot is a 2026 1954 Project Luminary!

At RevX, powered by Transcend, we’ve built a rigorous K–12 learning model where scholars investigate real community issues, develop solutions, and use academics to shape the world around them.

Through our DEEDS framework: Discover, Examine, Engineer, Do, and Share, young people tackle issues ranging from climate change and housing advocacy to voting rights. They aren’t just preparing for a changing world; they’re learning to lead within it—with real rigor and real stakes.

And their academics are soaring.

At our flagship sites, LEAD, Black and Brown scholars achieve 96% proficiency in ELA and 100% in math and science. At HBCU Early College Prep in Queens, scholars experience HBCU culture, college coursework, and change leadership with 95% of ninth graders also passing college-level courses and Regents exams.

This funding will help us strengthen our demonstration sites, deepen what we are learning, and accelerate our path toward sharing RevX with more educators and young people around the world.

None of this would be possible without Transcend and our extraordinary school partners, who bring this model to life every day.

I’m deeply honored and so excited for what comes next.

Grateful for the opportunity to join educators and researchers at this year’s Teaching Whole Learners conference!

On Sunday, RevX co-founder @j_charlot had the honor of presenting “DEEDS: A Project-Based Learning Framework That Fosters Student Agency and Mastery.”

We dug into:
• How DEEDS builds true agency by giving students choice, voice, and meaningful decision-making throughout a project.

• Why mastery grows when students iterate, reflect, and make their thinking visible—not just produce a final product.

• How belonging and identity are strengthened when learners see their stories, interests, and communities reflected in the work they create.

• How teachers can use DEEDS as a rhythmic, adaptive structure that brings clarity to project-based learning without constraining creativity.
