4 C's to help you achieve the most out of the Reward Chart journey.

Clarity: Explicitly describe and discuss desired behaviour, to set a path forward with clear guidelines and expectations.

Collaboration: Involve them in as many steps and actions in the development and filling out of the reward chart. Give them buy in and ownership.

Consistency: Keep them motivated and reinforced, building on positive habits will require constant reinforcement. Remind them you're serious about these developments.

Celebration: Recognise and reward their achievement. Who doesn't like to be praised? Ensure that their efforts are acknowledged and celebrated. by @rewardchart.io

Guiding your child’s behaviour is hard at times, you’ve tried, we know, you’ve tried a lot, we get it! So as parents ourselves, we’ve created this application based on the Behaviour Management – Positive Reinforcement Strategy. It attempts to teach your child that good behaviour will be rewarded, and therefore good behaviour is most desirable.

While developing this application, our almost 4 year old daughter was the use case. We wanted to establish routines that would make her more independent, especially because we now had an infant in the mix. We allowed her to suggest reward ideas, and involved her in the activities she needed to do in order to achieve her goals. We found her to be the one to remind us to “Put a sticker”, “Reward chart please”, “Reward time!”, which allowed her to select the stickers and see her progress. It became part of her routine at night to reflect on her day, and sleep with a mindset to repeat it again tomorrow. She was so excited when she unlocked a Reward, and we would love to share that moment with you and your child. - Ken & Nina by @rewardchart.io

Getting children to cooperate can be tough, especially when everyone is tired or in a hurry.
A few things that may help:
1. Connect with them first
2. Give one clear instruction
3. Offer two simple choices
4. Notice when they get it right
You do not need to try everything at once. Pick one idea and see how it works for your family.
Save this post for the next tricky moment.
