An update on Rewrite the Runway...

Over the past several weeks, I've poured my heart into planning Rewrite the Runway—a fashion show created to raise awareness for neurodivergent girls and fund resources like diagnostic testing scholarships, educational toolkits, and school presentations.

Unfortunately, after a lot of prayer and consideration, I've made the difficult decision to postpone this year's event.

As planning continued, it became clear that I simply don't have the number of volunteers, models, and resources needed to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves. While this wasn't the outcome I had hoped for, I believe that meaningful impact isn't measured by how quickly something happens—it's measured by doing it well.

This isn't the end of Rewrite the Runway. It's simply a "not yet."

I still believe deeply in this mission, and I still dream of the day when this event fills a room with people who are passionate about ensuring neurodivergent girls are seen, understood, and supported. I know that with a larger platform, stronger partnerships, and the right team behind it, that day will come.

To everyone who shared the vision, offered encouragement, or signed up to be part of it—thank you. Your support means more than you know, and I can't wait to invite you back when Rewrite the Runway is ready to become everything I know it can be.

Until then, the work of Rewrite Her Diagnosis continues. One conversation, one resource, and one girl at a time.

My onstage question focused on misconceptions surrounding neurodivergent women, and it was a topic that felt very personal to answer because it’s something so many of us experience every day.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that all neurodivergent conditions are obvious or visible. In reality, many neurodivergent girls and women spend years masking their symptoms, and you often can’t tell someone is neurodivergent just by looking at them. Most people are surprised to learn that I am.

This reality was highlighted when Miss Wisconsin 2025 shared on finals night that she lives with OCD, a neurodivergent condition. Many people were surprised because it wasn’t something they could see.

That’s why it’s so important to listen when girls and women talk about their experiences. No one knows what’s happening inside their mind better than they do. When we listen, believe, and support them, we create a world where more girls can get the understanding and resources they deserve. 💖

Due to the amount of prep that goes into competing for Miss Wisconsin’s Teen, I was unable to provide a June Condition of the Month. Because of this, we’re picking up here in July with Dyscalculia.

Dyscalculia is a learning disability that affects how people understand and work with numbers. While it can impact anyone, research shows it can look different in males and females.

Males with dyscalculia often struggle with visual-spatial tasks like mental rotation and multi-step problem-solving. They may also have challenges with working memory and abstract reasoning. Females, on the other hand, tend to struggle more with language-based math tasks—like word problems, math vocabulary, and mental arithmetic.

Recognizing these differences helps educators support students more effectively. For example, hands-on tools and visual aids can help boys, while activities focused on language and memory can benefit girls.

Understanding how dyscalculia shows up differently across genders is key to helping every student thrive.

This month, we’re focusing on ADHD—Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. While commonly associated with inattention and hyperactivity, symptoms can present very differently across genders.

Boys often exhibit externalized behaviors like impulsivity and hyperactivity, leading to earlier diagnoses. In contrast, girls tend to internalize symptoms, showing signs such as low self-esteem, disorganization, and inattentiveness. These subtler signs often go unnoticed, resulting in underdiagnosis or misdiagnosis.

Girls with ADHD may struggle silently, which can lead to other issues like anxiety, depression, or eating disorders.

Because diagnostic criteria have been shaped around male presentations, many girls and women with ADHD are overlooked. Understanding these gendered differences is essential for accurate support and intervention.

Hey guys!! I wanted to make a special post for today, since it’s DNA Day! My career aspiration is to be a geneticist, hoping to one day lead a study to determine what role genetics and chromosomes play in how neurodiversity is expressed in both females and males, which connects to my CSI, @fnro_official !! DNA is what makes us who we are, and we (quite literally) wouldn’t be here without it. 🧬👑
