Sometimes life feels so fast paced…
I love that art can lift me away, just for a moment... and bring me back to that quiet place inside where I remember who I am and where I come from.
My hope is when you stand before it, you don’t just see it but you feel it too just like these beauties do too 🧡

FLYING ~ 123 x 93cm

Ever since I was little I wished I could fly…take off and fly straight up into the clouds, warm wind in my hair feeling completely safe. The pure joy, adrenaline and freedom. I dreamt I would visit all the different countries and sit on the mountaintops and skyscrapers and swim in waterfalls. In my turbulent childhood dreaming of flying was a happy escape and sometimes when I woke I could have sworn I flew right out my bedroom window and had grand adventures 🐝

I have also loved having the bogong moths around and the kids have loved catching and releasing them from their bedrooms every night 😆

This painting will be available at the @affordableartfairau 5 -8th of November with @reyaartgallery and I will send out a catalogue before the fair dm me if you want one 💕

We also have complimentary tickets to the fair if you would like one please send me a dm 🤍

When the meaning comes at the end, this is how it is with most of my artworks. After pondering on this abstract I realised that it felt like a landscape from my memories.

Back in 2012, Chris, our Springer Salti and I (pre-kids) went touring across Australia and discovered our shared love of the outback. After taking the less driven tracks we stumbled across The Painted Desert in South Australia.

We were the only ones there at the end of the day, when the sun made the landscape glow, dramatic shadows stretched over the land and the many colours of pinks, oranges, reds and purples were like a dream. As soon as we saw the hills we collectively held our breath, it was complete magic.

We always wanted to return and last year in 2025, we took the kids on a big Aussie trip. Making sure we travelled back to the Painted Desert to share our love of the landscape.

Warm earthy pinks caught in a dreamy landscape, subtle layers of hill formations and a sense of vastness that surrounds you. These are the elements that conjure this piece.
