Hi y’all. On September 13th my partner CJ had their car stolen from right in front of our apartment 😔 It was crashed and totaled and a bunch of their belongs were missing. They worked real hard for that car and took such good care of it, this has really been such a messed up situation. Their insurance covered the rest of what they owed on the car, but there will be nothing left after that. I made them a gofund me to help them get a used car and replace some of the items that were stolen from them. Please share and consider donating if you have the means. Spent the weekend at Kern River to start off some pre-birthday celebrations for my sweet sis @earthwindandflowers_ ✨// So grateful to community, and to all the bodies of water that hold (and have held) me. Every time I’m outside with loved ones, I am reminded that THIS is it. This is the point to it all. To slow down, and cherish, and witness, and marvel, and take it all in. To giggle, and watch the birds, and share stories under the stars. Finally made it back to one of my favorite places. I’ve been coming here for years now; always feel pulled to go when my head is cloudy and I need some clarity or when I’m going through big shifts. These wetlands have held so many of my tears. These colors have inspired much of the art I’ve created over the last decade. These creatures ground me, bring me back to the present, and remind me of the ways in which we’re all connected. This land is real special to me, I will always hold it dear. I wrote a whole ass caption and that shit didn’t even save 😭// well anyway, I started workin on baby’s shirt in October for their birthday in November. Finished it in December. And finally steamed it and had it ready to wear on the first day of February lol. My process has gotten a lot slower, but I’ve been a lot happier with the results// This is the second button up I’ve crocheted (and certainly my favorite). This has been in my drafts for weeks now 🙃 I can’t post with as much ease anymore. I’ve shared a lot of my life since my early MySpace/Tumblr days, and while I do miss posting more regularly, I’ve also really enjoyed slowing down and engaging with social media from a more passive role. // This summer has been light on the “carefree” and heavy on the “overwhelm.” Transitioned jobs (thank goodness) and feeling happy to finally have more time and space for the things that bring me joy. This season felt real transformative, the Lows taught me a lot about myself and who I want to be moving forward; the Highs reminded me of all the love that surrounds me (and lives inside of me). I spent the last few days in the desert with the sweetest group of humxns, and I’m still processing how special this trip was for me. Joshua Tree has always been very near and dear to my heart, and this was by far my favorite trip there to date. Last Sunday I had the pleasure of attending my first tea party and now imma have to make this a monthly ritual🫖✨thank you so much @lets.talkfood @lavvagod @tribalwaistbeads and @tahlialoreal for putting together such a beautiful event💕 the food, the tea, the vibes—WOW.
