A couple of months after we brought Butters home (thank you to her foster Erin Hyland and her rescue organization Desert Paws Sanctuary ) we all worked through some of the more common issues rescues carry with them. Almost all tied to Trust.

There’s still room to go, but she has gotten so confident that her life is going to be loving and stable. So she’s more trusting.

But we had a hard time helping with the separation anxiety she was dealing with. Within minutes of us leaving she would whimper and cry loudly and could never get calm and settled.

Patrick Evans recommended I call Mara Brown, a Life Coach for dogs and their humans.

We had 5 total sessions with Mara and the results have been amazing.

Kay and I have gotten much better behaved 😂😂

Seriously, the training was maybe more for us than Butters. There were so many things we were doing wrong. They were done out of love, but they weren’t making her feel more comfortable and confident.

Within 2 sessions, people around us were commenting on Butters growth.

Yesterday Butters, Kay and I graduated. We celebrated by visiting some friends. Butters confidently walked in to their back yard, said hi to their puppy and relaxed.

It is so gratifying to be helping a soul that didn’t get the best start in life. But Kay and I will both admit that we got the better end of this deal 💕🐶💕🐶💕🐶💕

We have a new member of the Florence family. 😀😀

Meet Butters.

It’s been a while for us, but that feeling has been growing and we’ve been preparing. And the universe put this face in front us.

She’s a rescue and has some trust issues, but she will be so loved in this house that those will disappear quickly!

Thank you to my friend Erin Hyland for fostering (and naming) Butters until her forever home was ready. And thanks to Laura at Desert Paws Sanctuary for the work she does!

Self-promotion alert!!

Officiating weddings has been a passion of mine for 10+ years! Everytime I’ve done a wedding, I’ve come away believing in Love Stories even more 💕💕

Over these years, I’ve watched the couples grow, grow their families, and have the kinds of marriages they told me they wanted when I first met with them.

I would do this for many reasons, but getting this type of response is one of them 💕💕🥰🥰
