We loved some of the signs in the UK. The first on a walking path in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. This is a speed limit sign in miles per hour. Some are half the size of this one. The last one needs no explanation. taken in Kelvingrove Park by @rfneff

Yes we did play golf in Scotland! Sort of. The Golf Tavern in Edinburgh will loan you a chipper and putter to play the pitch and put course across the street at Bruntsfield Links. @golftavern @bruntsfield.edinburgh by @rfneff

Two great stops between Sterling and Edinburgh are the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. The Falkirk wheel is a lock designed to take riverboats from the level of one canal to the level of another canal. We got to watch it bring down a houseboat with people on a relaxing canal vacation. And they also went through a smaller lock after the wheel. We also saw a tour boat hoisted up. The Kelpies are giant metal horses that also guard a lock between canals. taken in Falkirk Wheel by @rfneff

We visited the Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye. They were magnificent. We had not heeded the advice to bring rain pants as well as a good rain jacket. We were soaked to the skin with driving rain and wind. It was all worth it. taken in Fairy Pools, Isle Of Skye, Scotland by @rfneff

The most moving morning of our trip to Scotland was to St Mary’s Church, the only Catholic Church in Sterling when Judy’s father lived here 100 years ago. Unbelievably cool. by @rfneff
