Last week, we attended the recently concluded Raising Young Entrepreneurs (RYE) Bootcamp, Cohort 2, organised by the PAC Foundation to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Our Head of Corporate Communication, Dr Rafiat Gawat, joined a fireside conversation themed "From Idea to Impact: Exploring TGI's Entrepreneurial Journey," where she shared insights on innovation, entrepreneurship, business growth, and the importance of creating lasting impact beyond financial success. The session also explored practical lessons from TGI Group's journey, offering young entrepreneurs valuable perspectives on building resilient and sustainable businesses.

What better day to post this…

This past month, I served in the Local Organising Committee for Lagos PR Fest 2026, convened by the @lagosnipr last week. Our theme was Security, Nation Building & Public Trust: Fostering Collective Responsibility through Strategic Public Relations.

When it fell to me to close the conference — to draw the keynote and panel session into a handful of takeaways — what kept surfacing beneath all of it: TRUST and Collective Responsibility.

Trust is the currency our profession trades in. It is slow to earn, quick to lose, and — in an age of automation — easier than ever to erode.

This evening, the people of @griotsandbards_gab invited me to facilitate #SkillshareWednesday on the topic: The Art of Selling Yourself: How to position your skills, experience or business so people want to pay you more.

Did a lot of writing and also put together some quote cards for the session, and even I found it enlightening.

“Value Proposition” was ingrained in me from my early career days in Sterling (those who know know🙃)! And it is such an evergreen statement.

Last week, we participated in the 18th Global Shea Alliance (GSA) Annual Conference in Accra #Shea2026, where we engaged alongside other stakeholders in the shea sector, around the theme "Beyond Borders”.

We were also delighted to welcome the Nigerian delegation led by the Honourable Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh and the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, to our exhibition stand, where we showcased our origination, sustainability and best-in-class processing facilities in the shea value chain.

At the event, our Head of Sustainability, Yosola Onanuga, who was newly inaugurated into the GSA Executive Committee, presented TGI's sustainability transformation journey, alongside other panellists, on the theme "Sustainability in Action."

Our team, alongside the Nigerian delegation, held engagement sessions with the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, Jane Opoku-Agyemang and other private sector players in the region.

We will continue to focus on strengthening local value chains, supporting agro-processing, and contributing to the development of a more competitive and sustainable shea industry in Nigeria.

In recognition of World Orphans Day, marked by the Worldwide Organization for Charity (WOC), we extended our support to children at Little Saints Orphanage through our philanthropic arm, TGI Cares Foundation, with donations of essential food and home care products.

Days like this are a reminder of the realities many children face, from parental loss caused by conflict, displacement, disease, and poverty, and the shared responsibility to support their well-being in practical ways.

Our delegation was received by the Founder, Rev. Mrs Christiana Bamidele George, the Director, Temitayo Benson, and other members of the administrative team.

At TGI Group, we believe every child deserves a safe, supportive environment and the opportunity to thrive. We remain committed to playing our part, not just through giving, but through continued advocacy for policies that protect and uplift vulnerable children.

It’s been just over a week since I walked the stage, marking the end of a journey that stretched me in a million and more ways — my Doctorate in Business Administration, specializing in Business Strategy.

I’m proud, yes. But more than anything, I am humbled. This journey showed me that there is almost no elastic limit to will! When your “why” is strong, you will stretch, bend, and rise, over and over again.

I’m most proud of the fact that my Girls @reelswithrihanot @mizabdul and @mopelola_adunni also walked the stage for their Masters!

To my support system — my family, friends, mentors — thank you.

We did this!

It was indeed… a journey.

Recently, as members of the Private Sector ESG Forum, we hosted the pre-event press conference for the 3rd edition of the forum’s flagship event themed titled “Energy Security and Decarbonization: Bridging the Gap for a Sustainable Future.

At the event, our Head of Corporate Communication - Rafiat Gawat, moderated a panel on “Building Resilient and Sustainable Energy Value Chains.”

The conversation explored how Africa can balance energy security with decarbonization through policy alignment, innovation, financing, and collaboration.

Ms Gawat emphasized our belief that achieving real progress demands scale, shared responsibility, and data-driven coordination across all stakeholders.

Our team attended the 53rd Annual General Meeting and Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition organised by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Lagos, which also featured the 5th Adeola Odutola Lecture themed “Nigeria First: Prioritising Patronage of Made-in-Nigeria.”

The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with industry leaders, exchange insights, and showcase our portfolio of locally made products.

We are delighted to have participated in this year’s summit and we remain committed to collaborating with stakeholders who share our vision of driving industrial growth and advancing Nigeria’s economic development.
