Going to see a @jelly.diver set is an experience in and of itself and is a must see for anyone in the Charlotte music scene. With the self-made visuals on CRT TV’s and super hype jungle/breakcore style music, anyone and everyone will enjoy coming to one of their shows.
Jelly Diver is a persona created by a local artist named Music Knight who had their first ever set in June of 2024, but based on their performance alone you would think they’ve been doing this for years. The intricacy in all of the visuals and how well they correlate with the music playing shows the hard work and dedication put into each and every set they do.
They gained inspiration for the eye-catching style of their sets by going to Magfest and watching fellow artists who had plugged in hacked Super Nintendos into CRT TV’s and conceived adding video game style visuals to their performance.
Jelly Diver is well known at The Milestone Club and Petra’s and their sets are always phenomenal. You can catch their next set at the Scene Kid Rave at @sipcityclt on August 7th. #RiffReport #RiffFieldGuide #CLTMusic #CharlotteMusicScene #CharlotteCreative by @rhigrayyy

@themilestoneclub was filled with high energy and nothing but good vibes for the Camping in Alaska tour with Stella and Dead Butterflies. This venue has been an iconic venue in Charlotte for years now and always welcomes DIY acts from all over.
The first band on was @elder.bright, a local NC band from Wilmington, who have a nostalgic fever dream rock sound that’s easy to jam out to. These guys are no strangers to The Milestone and it shows in the comfortability in their performance.
Following Elder Bright is @blankstate , a well-known Charlotte band, who always knows how to get a crowd moving. Watching them perform you can tell they’re naturals with the way they run around the stage and don’t skip a beat. From Faye’s guttural and bone chilling screams (while absolutely shredding on bass) to Jacob’s lively vocals and Seth’s top-tier skill on the drums, this band is a must see in Charlotte.
@stellasband , an indie punk band out of Oregon, came next with a spirited and passionate set showcasing their talent and love for music. Their album “A Streetcar Named Desire” has a midwest emo feel and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for new music from them!
The @deadbutterfliesband set was surreal and beautiful. The seven member band beyond showed out. Everyone in the audience had nothing but high spirits and excitement for every song in their set. The lead singer Micah felt every word he sang and was in the crowd for majority of the set, being a part of the mosh pit multiple times which is something I’ve never seen before. Their set was the most unique and outstanding performance I’ve seen in a while.
To end the night @camping.in.alaska absolutely demolished their set from start to finish. The mosh pits and crowd surfing were insane, including Austin the lead vocalist crowd surfing at the end of the set whilst playing guitar. From “Turncoat” to “c u in da ballpit”, every song they performed built the energy in the room up more and more. Every member of this band is insanely talented and their songs have a great feel for any playlist. They have a new LP in the works so keep an eye out!

Group Therapy has been making waves in the Charlotte music scene with their high energy and spectacular lyricism. Their song Dystopia tells a tragically beautiful story of wanting someone whilst knowing you‘re not good for each other, while their song YIPPEE!!! (I’m Happy) is a high energy feel good song and shows the diversity and range in their lyricism.

The band did their first ever show at @snugharbornc in Plaza Midwood. They are insanely interactive with the audience and they have a multitude of songs that encourages crowd interaction. Whether you’re an OG fan or this is your first time seeing this group perform, they make it effortless to jam along with them. Frontman, which is a song that will be on their upcoming album, is their best song for getting the crowd excited as they ask the crowd to wave their arms and sing along.

Group Therapy conveys an important and beautiful message of being yourself and expressing your opinions loudly and proudly while executing a lively performance. Their song Glass Cannon is a perfect example of their talents and showcases the thought and care they put into each song. They’re fairly new to the Charlotte music scene, yet have the cohesiveness and the ability to rile up a crowd as though they’ve been doing this for years. Watching these guys perform is always an amazing time. They have their album release show at @divinebarrelclt on March 20th and I am more than looking forward to hearing their new album! #RiffReport #RiffFieldGuide #CLTMusic #SupportCLTMusic by @rhigrayyy
