Rhona’s recommendations. Loved this gorgeous novel by @tesswoods_author, it’s very deserving of all the excellent reviews. Such a beautifully written and immersive novel. And yes, that’s my husband and I as young things in Egypt circa 2000! #australianwriters #australianbooks by @rhona_sinclair_writer

Love Halloween, and this year we spent it in Tokyo, with all the extremes that is Shinjuku! But couldn’t help be drawn back to the oiche shamhna of my youth, the bairin breac and the excitement of wondering if you would get the penny, the ring or the cloth, the apple bobbing with cousins, the bonfires and of course the Irish ghost stories; the banshee was my favourite as a child, but of course I do love the Sluagh! So, spoiler alert, I had to sprinkle some references to oiche shamhna through my novel, and I’m hoping it creates just a teeny bit of an unsettling feeling 🤫 by @rhona_sinclair_writer

Our first 48 hours in Japan. What’s not to love? Well maybe the quake but otherwise smiles all round. by @rhona_sinclair_writer

So excited to be volunteering @festivaloffiction in November, a fantastic writers and readers festival AND the opportunity to pitch The Shame to publishers and literary agents. Better get practicing my pitch🤞#festivaloffiction #writing by @rhona_sinclair_writer

Did I become a social worker because I love family drama or do I love family drama because I’m a social worker? Either way it’s my favourite thing to read about AND to write!#writing #socialworkers by @rhona_sinclair_writer

Packing activated! Three more sleeps. So undecided about which book to bring to Japan. I only have room for one, which one should it be? by @rhona_sinclair_writer

Trying to overcome the self doubt before I start querying. How do you know when your beloved manuscript is ready? When you’ve done everything you can and it’s in the best possible shape. It’s had multiple eyes on it but there’s still that uncertainty. I need to harness my inner Brene Brown and embrace the power of vulnerability! #writing by @rhona_sinclair_writer

More things I love about my cosy writing space, always feeling peaceful and inspired when I sit down, light a scented candle and start creating ( or editing!). What’s your favourite cosy writing space? #writing #cosy by @rhona_sinclair_writer
