Skate 3 was a game I played loads as a kid. Always thought skateboarding was cool, but never could get on with riding one myself. That's why the game was so addictive, and I honestly, still to this day, go back and play it.

I was lucky enough to be invited into the EA Skate Playtest, probably last year now, its been a long time, and its nice to see how the game has progressed. Most recently, I moved from the PC playtest to console, which has been great, and I've spent a whole lot more time playing. Now that the NDA has been lifted ahead of public early access, I can finally share some footage.

Big thanks to EA for the opportunity, looking forward to continuing to re-live my childhood 💪🏻

Sooo, I suppose I'll let this be known now.

Circa late 1970s/early 1980s Bridgestone Sieg 4s 🥵

All I know about them is the rough build dates, and that they came from a small range of wheels that Bridgestone decided to produce way back when. Very rare, I dont think I've spotted another set on anything I've seen before. They're 14x6 ET42 2pc welded splits 👌🏻

I picked these up a couple of years back as a cheap marketplace steal, sat on em for a while, and had no real plan for them. When I decided to take the Work's off the car, searching for grip and comfort, I went back to the Ronal's, but I told you I had a plan. I dug these bad boys out, gave them a ghetto refurb, and wrapped them in 185/50/14 @yokohama_tyres_uk
A539 tyres. Perfect combo for this cars next phase.

Again, I had hoped for a lot more from this year, but unfortunately, due to time, space and just life its not happened. But we move, see you soon @endless_summer_vw_show 🤝🏻

Took the shed out for a blast tonight. My plans for this have been somewhat delayed at the mo, but one thing that's for sure is when I finally get around to giving this thing its much needed attention, it's going to be cool, very cool. Cannot remember the last time it was washed and polished, so it looks like shit, but regardless of how it looks, it still sounds sick 🎺 by @rhys_durham

I'm sure that absolutely no one cares, because my motorsport content never seems to do well, but I set out with one goal this weekend, and that was to get down to Thruxton, and get some practice in ahead of the season this year with the camera.

Last year, I was never happy with my motorsport photography. As a hobby photographer, I'd never really played with manual photo settings. This left me with motionless still frame shots of cars which didn't offer much motion and just looked static on track. Over winter, I did a lot of research about motorsport photography, and this weekend I finally put it into action.

I am chuffed to bits with the results, for my first ever attempt at A. Using manual mode on the camera & B. Attempting panning photography tracking a moving subject. It's probably not perfect, and there's definitely better photographers out there, but I think these came out very cool. There's well over 700 photos from our day yesterday but these were some that I plucked out to share!

Ranger dump 2️⃣

Lots of progress, some in the wrong direction, some in the right. Finished all the brake lines (subject to bleeding) and decided to pause on the fuel lines to give myself a break (or so I thought) and get on with some other easy jobs.

Did the engine service, started to remove the sump, but to do that, I needed to remove the exhaust manifold, and to do that, I needed to remove the radiator. In doing that, I found the radiator was bollocksed, and the member underneath it was rusty. Removed and re sealed the sump and fixed the rust issue. In the background I'd been fighting an oil leak from the gearbox to no avail, so muxh to my dislike, I figured I already had most things off the car, why not just get on with it.

Removed the gearbox, split the casing down, found a broken driveshaft bush, replaced that, replaced some seals, re-sealed the gearbox casing and fitted a new clutch! Finally, this evening I have managed to get the gearbox back in! Just need to fill it with oil, and leave it a couple days to check it has sealed, I guess I can get back to them fuel lines I planned on taking a week off from about 2 months ago😂

Well, it's been fun, but that's the Polo raised an inch all around and the Ronal's back on for now. I then went for a 45mile blast through the countryside and instantly, the car is so much nicer to drive. The erratic bump steer seems to have gone, the wheel wobble is gone, and it feels a lot more stable at "speed". Before this, it was undrivable. At around 60 you'd get the horrible wheel wobble and anything north of 70 and you'd be squabbling with the car all over the road with no real control, now it's a dream, and you feel in control, giving you the confidence on corner entry and exit when you're being spritely, and allowing you to keep it in a straight line on the spicy end of the speedo.

This will at least let me enjoy driving the car until all of the new goodies can go on, and then we'll be cooking on burners! It's kinda nice to see it back with the Ronal's on, it's like a nice throwback, and it has honestly made a huge difference. Sure, it's a bit sad without the Work's, but trust the process, on to better things for sure 🫡

Was bloody lovely to get this out tonight, had a good blast out in it, but definitely time for change, the Work's will be coming off in the very near future, the Ronal's will be going back on, and the coilovers will be raised up a bit ready for its next phase of life. Still on with prepping/painting the new wheels, then hopefully, when the Ranger is completed, the coupe can head into the unit for a few weeks for all of the new parts to be fitted, and with a hint of luck, we could be seeing a track day or two before the year is out! I've loved every minute of my journey thus far, but it is time for some change. Keep a look out for things as they progress 👌🏻 by @rhys_durham
