First live set running tracking was extremely liberating and well received by the crowd... we were really going out on a limb with this one and have always wanted to take the project in this direction to help keep the sound full, consistent, and easier on the house sound guys. Running in ears was huge, and being able to hear everything on stage was a serious game changer. Looking forward to booking more festival gigs next season and may have a handful of get togethers here at the farm while the weather is still nice.

Shout out to an incredible weekend at @lookaroundfestival !!! Our first time doing a 2 man set with live tracking, and it was a massive game changer for us. Much love to this guy, @codyj.gordon on guitar and keys, and to the entire Look Around staff, bands, vendors and attendees. There was a lot of forces working against us and we persevered, putting together one of the greatest festivals we've ever been to! Thank you so all so much

Tom Petracarro @saxophone_tom and myself getting sensual on the front of the main stage at @intothepinesmusicfestival !! We met Tom at a @unionfirehouse show with @billywaltonband ... I was a little juicy and mentioned into the mic that if any horn players wanted to come up and play they were welcome to do so. Tom answered the call and jumped up with us and absolutely crushed it. We only got to rehearse once before the Paradise lakes show, but I wasn't the least concerned about it. When you have good horn players like Tom, they have no hard time finding their way around. Funk yeah, Tom! Thanks for performing with us, let's do it again

Shout out to this man right here, Mr. Cody Gordon ( @codyj.gordon )!! Cody and I have been talking about getting together to jam for like 5 years before it finally happened after we ran into each other on a Sunday at Some Kind of Jam. Once we got together it was pretty clear that our styles meshed very well together. Cody brings a perfect blend of funk and metal to our set that really helps me to send it on stage and feel enthusiastic about new and old material. Thank you for coming through, Cody ... couldn't have done this without you!

I don't even know where to start! What a weekend! From the deepest part of my heart, THANK YOU to everyone that came out and threw down with us! I can't describe how much this weekend truly meant to me. Getting to see so many people I haven't seen in a long time was nothing short of incredible. I would also like to thank John Fachinnie and the rest of the production crew for @intothepinesmusicfestival !!! One of the best weekends I've ever had at Paradise lakes, hands down. I've got a lot of things in store for you all next year and I can't wait to share them with you. Much love to every single one of you. See you all soon!

Got to hang with my brother @carl_thompson_guitars this week! I also got to play his first ever bass from 1974 which was pretty incredible. Carl is the hardest working guy i know, if everyone worked only a quarter as hard as he did the world would be a much better place. I've been struggling really hard the past year with depression and a serious case of imposter syndrome. Getting to hang with Carlito is always rejuvenating and inspiring.
.
One of the many great pieces of wisdom Carl tells me is that if you're competing with other people you're already the loser -- the only person you ought to be competing with yourself to make yourself a little better each day. I think about that a lot in an industry that is plagued with so much unnecessary competition. Music isn't a sport, and we're all much more powerful and have so much more potential when artists work together instead of tearing each other down. Thank you for being a great friend, Carl. You and Linda are such an inspiration to me, I'm forever grateful to have you both in my life. Keep Swingin'
