For those of you who are voting this week, we'd like to humbly offer this otherworldly record for your consideration! This album collects our violist Carrie Frey's first four quartets, on sci-fi themes. We love how these four pieces capture the unique energy we have together as a quartet of composer-performers. We'd be honored if you gave it a listen!

@gather_nyc is thrilled to announce its 2026-27 Season 🎉 JAN 24TH, 11AM | @rhythmethod4tet. Tickets on sale now (details and 🎟️ via link in @gather_nyc profile)!

Fierce, fearless, and virtuosic, The Rhythm Method Quartet is redefining what a string quartet can be. Praised by The New Yorker as “trailblazing” and by NewMusicBox for their “unapologetically stylistically omnivorous” artistry, this NYC-based ensemble blends composition, improvisation, vocalization, and theatricality into performances that are as adventurous as they are compelling. They’ve appeared at the Met Museum, Joe’s Pub, Roulette, The Stone, and the Noguchi Museum, and performed internationally at the Lucerne Festival Forward. Much of their repertoire is composed by the quartet members themselves, in which tightly composed passages give way to spontaneous improvisation and all manner of extended string techniques.

Every decision was the right one.

PARTYSZENEN is a string quartet by Isabella Gellis, with accompanying text/reading by Molly Pepper Steemson, realised as part of their larger collaboration.
PARTYSZENEN describes a serene delusion: the moment of an evening when one’s desire comes into focus, and the path toward it is clear and absolute.
PARTYSZENEN is a private realisation made possible by noise; inebriation; vibrating, stretching, changing grouping; scattered focus; acts on impulse; silliness.
PARTYSZENEN is often forgotten.
