#LookingBack at the meditation on time brought to stage by our Artistic & Executive Director, @erinnliebhard.danceartist , in ‘[If I Had the Chance] To Do It Again,’ performed at @southerntheater for our summer program, Groovers & Makers ‘26.

This work dug into why we’re so drawn to time travel, both the physical kind we dream about and the very real Mental Time Travel our brains do every day, a capability many credit as a major leap in our evolution. The piece considered our human fallibility against time’s apparent lack of it, how we might try to bend time to our will if it bent as easily as we do, and the delicate balance of navigating where our minds wander, past and future, while still trying to live in the present. 🕰️

Where does your mind travel most? Tell us in the comments!

#LookingBack at the juxtaposition of grief and joy brought to stage by @kamr77 in ‘A Looser Grip’, performed at @southerntheater for our summer program, Groovers & Makers ‘26.

This tap work explored how grief and joy can, and must, exist side by side. Loss is woven into the cycles of being human, and joy is what carries us through it, helping us find meaning as we keep moving forward. The piece asked: can we hold both at once, if we loosen our grip? 🤍

Did this one hit home for you? Tell us in the comments!

#LookingBack at the vulnerability and heart brought to stage by @karlagrotting in ‘Bring Me Home,’ performed at @southerntheater for our summer program, Groovers & Makers ‘26.
Set to original jazz scores from Scandinavian artists, this premiere dug into some deeply human territory. In the studio, Karla and the dancers used specific internal prompts to find an emotional center, translating them into movement, and searching for ways to say the things we wish we could. The result: a piece about seeking understanding, contemplating connection, and finding a way to ease. 💛

What resonated with you when you saw it? Tell us in the comments!
