In 1985, Rice scientists inside a lab in the Space Science and Technology Building made a discovery that changed the landscape of nanotechnology — a stable hollow carbon structure named C60. Their research culminated in a Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1996 and opened a research ecosystem. Read "The Birth of the Buckyball" at the link in bio. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Astros vs. Rangers game yesterday at Globe Life Field!

It was a fantastic afternoon of reconnecting with fellow Rice alumni, meeting new faces and enjoying one of Texas’ biggest rivalries together.

Events like these remind us that the Rice community extends far beyond campus. Whether you were cheering for the Astros or the Rangers, we hope you left with new connections and great memories.

We can’t wait to see you at our next event!

It's not a stretch to say we've got a beautiful campus. The image shows a brick building with red-tiled roofs at Rice University. A pixel stretch effect is applied to the photo making a wave of colors come off the building into the sky. by @ricealumni
