Masters Gravel Champ 2026!

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been eyeing this up for some time. Preparations running into it were good, but then a period of busyness at work, illness and a rather unfortunately timed house move just a few days before left me questioning what would be possible. But on the day, things came good.

Epic course that leaned to my strengths somewhat, and we managed to get it done. 🏆

Credit to @jonesh93 for putting up with my 5am alarms and hiking halfway up a mountain to hand me a bottle.

A few weeks back, I gave the Northamptonshire Way @fastestknowntimes from @mtb_epics_uk a crack. A few issues early on, but it turned into a decent hack, and pleased to set a new FKT time of 4:44.

Might have started something here… by @rich_j0nes

Marston Mega CX — another year, another good ride up on the the Marston hill, big thanks to @deanbarnettuk for making it happen.

It was hot, rough, and fast out there — cheers to @gilesdrake and @j_swadling2 for keeping the pace high. Ended up with another 2nd place this year, but honestly just had a blast ripping around that course 👌. by @rich_j0nes

Late to the gravel racing party, but @dalby_grit yesterday sure showed me what the hype is all about. The guys at @focal.events put on one hell of a race, with a fast-flowing course and flawless organisation. Learned a lot, here’s hoping for a problem-free race next time. 7th Elite when all said and done. taken in Dalby Forest by @rich_j0nes

@ardrockenduro 2024 is complete! It’s been an incredible few days with the best brands and amazing people. A special shout out to the legends at @smilingchainlink for their phenomenal work fixing hundreds of bikes up on the hill. These guys take field mechanics to a whole new level 🙌 by @rich_j0nes

The inaugural @gravelrocksevent 2024 is done and with it an unexpected overall win!
.
Not what I expected, but then I didn’t know what to expect. What I experienced was something pretty special. A short, fast, and punchy evening prologue followed by a gruelling 80k of varied terrain, from moors, gravel tracks, woods, Singletrack and flowing trails.

If this is gravel then I’m hooked!! by @rich_j0nes
