Rhythm Riot Part Four

Thanks to everyone who stars, it was great to meet such lovely people.

I love Great Yarmouth, and I love to capture it, both now and its rich history as a seaside town and entertainment centre. In a way I’m trying to capture its shadows and its reflections of the past and the Rhythm Riot is a route to take that journey.

Rhythm Riot, Camber Sands 2003

This week I return to the @therhythmriot for the first time in twenty three years that I am really looking forward to. Notably that weekend twenty three years ago England won the Rugby World Cup but the weather really did not play ball on the photography of the event it was really grey and wet. I was left with making images in the Rain and dark with a lot of artificial lighting that gave the images a certain nocturnal feel. Frame one of the car in the rain is still one of my favourites, Four of these images made their way into my book Man’s Ruin published in 2007.

Wissington Sugar Factory
I’m slightly fascinated in Fenland Industry. Due to the flat landscape they make quite an impact on the horizon. On my drive back home I went on a little detour to the British Sugar plant at Wissington which is fascinating a experience.
